My personal opinion is that guns are just fine. Guns help us provide security for our families if something ever happens, but I want to here your opinions.

Everyone is misunderstanding the government part. The second Ammendment was drafted after the revolutionary war, where we got out from under the heel of King George. The founding fathers didn;t want another king, so this Ammendmant gives us the right to overthrow a government we don't like. Not to say, hey, tax increase let's take over the government.

We have it in case George W got the army behind him, and said "Hey I'm President for life now." We have the right to fight back.

The "government" doesn't come knock on your door with guns.

Yea, that didn't happen at Waco or at Ruby Ridge. It was all a media stunt.

One person can't fight the government.
A band of people can, if they have a defensible enough position. In the old days, they'd get nuked, but with all the "HUMAN RIGHTS YOU CAN'T KILL PPL" bullshit, that's not doable anymore.

Exactly. This also proves my theory that if you ignore a question long enough, someone else will answer for you! Joking! (Sort of)

Haha well guns are bad, when the government says shoot first ask questions later... stupid law.....
Either way guns are good. We can fight for freedom using them. And if you want to go into a neo-nazi way of look at it (or facist if i cant write nazi on here), you can use them to take over a country.
But then again you cant just say guns are bad cuz ppl use them to hunt for food. And honestly thats what they were intended for. To eat and use material to help you survive. Anyways people would just start to use swords, and spears again and everything would be a bloody mess if guns were taken away... Just keep the guns...

I think guns are good, if you use them the right way, of course. Good ways on using a gun are:

Using it for protection
Using it for Hunting
Using it for incase of emergency (Example: Burgalar)

And those are the only good things about guns. If a gun is used wrongly, I hate them. Such ways are:

Robbery
Theft
Breaking into a house

And so on and so fourth.

What freedom do you as US citizens need to fight for? Us Brits left centuries ago. Aside fom the armed forces itself guns really arent nescessary.

But then again you cant just say guns are bad cuz ppl use them to hunt for food. And honestly thats what they were intended for. To eat and use material to help you survive.

That is what they were intended for originally but dont say that people living in the middle of urban areas in say NY need guns? What are they gonna do, go hunt animals in central park? Of course not. I am not opposed to guns if people actually do use them to go hunting deer and other things like that but with 90% of the guns in the US this isnt the case.

Anyways people would just start to use swords, and spears again and everything would be a bloody mess if guns were taken away... Just keep the guns...

Why would this happen if by your argument you say they are nescessary for hunting, would people use spears and swords on each other? Also i dont know where you are from but i certainly havent seen much medieval weaponry for sale around my way. Sure there will always be people willing to kill others, but taking away guns makes it much harder and they would have to use knives or bats or other such weapons. Many people would be able to pull a trigger and kill someone, but it takes real guts and col bloodedness to stab someone. There may be lots of knife crime here in the UK but at least i dont have to be worried too much about being gunned down in a rough neighbourhood.

@ Woody. Like I said before, it's in our constitution, and not for the sake of having one. It's our right to have guns in case the government gets out of line, and we have a dictator. And I know what "government gets out of line" sounds like, but I assure you I'm not some anarchist revolutionary. It's mostly the principle that counts.

By the way, if civilians didn't have guns anymore, burglaries would increase. If they staked out a house long enough, and there was no threat of the owners retaliation short of a base ball bat, there isn't much to stop several men. A gun evens thing up.

Plus they're way fun to shoot.

Im from canada not USA. lets make that clear first lol...
Um Wat im saying is that if we were to take away guns, People would again start to use spears and swords and that kinda weaponry for wars. Just by taking guns away doesn't stop the fact that people will want to kill others for resources. Play Dynasty warriors... Those were real commanders back in Japan along time ago, and actually based on historical references. Not saying they used those exact weapons but thats how they fought. Taking guns away doesn't solve anything. Just the fact that selling guns to any one on the street like they do in the USA i think is very wrong. And don't even try to deny it, iv'e been there and seen guns getting sold everywhere. Now a days you dont need a liscence for a gun, and if you do its very easy to obtain one.

guns are and, and we aren't going to need them for the next revolution because there isn't going to be one, or at least not in our life times...

well ya actually. Why do u think they call insane criminals, insane. I mean Hitler, he was a genious.... Insane... but a genious. He supposedly was half way to finding a cure for cancer, but they would never use his research due to how he obtained. He was so sick that he would tie pregnant jews legs together, and then as they were having birth keep em tied. They would end up dying horrificly, as well as having the baby dieing....
