ok,guys i know you might think this is funny, but at 6 o' clock i want ag EVERYONE, to take a bow of silence and remember those americans who lost there lives on this day, canadiens, anyone else participate if you want to.
And you wonder why I'm killing myself this afternoon. Ashamed to be a part of the same species as liberals.
Please please please do kill yourself. One less idiotic, sheep, propoganda swilling, ignorant, biased "fact finding" Republican in this world. You'll save me the trouble and you'll be making America a better place to live.
I think it's fine to take a moment in remembrance of people and family members lost during a horrible event. I'll be thinking about it tomorrow, because it is the anniversary of a terrible day. I remember that day, and it sucked. If you don't care, didn't affect you, or you are not bothered by it, you don't have to participate in a moment of silence. You can go on with your day. People all over the world chose to remember certain days and take moments to honor people. It just depends on whether those people are affected by an event. Of course people die everyday, but some of those people who die do not affect us personally so we chose not to take time to remember them. For Americans 9/11 was very personal and most will do something to pray for those that died, etc.
Although, I went off topic encouragining megamickle to follow his urges, I too support a moment of silence to remember all the innocent people who lost their lives too early in the 9/11 attacks. It doesn't hurt anyone too take a moment of silence to celebrate the lives that were lost too soon.

I'm not going to resort to your immaturity. Instead, I'm going to point out your fallacies. 1. "Sheep" - What you fail to realize is that everything that you have ever said, thought, or done has been done before you. There is "nothing new under the sun", so to speak. Why should I not draw upon the wisdom of those who know more than me or who have been around before me? I'm young. I'm only 18. Those who have lived longer or are already gone have much wisdom to pass on if we are willing to listen. Instead of looking out for our own self-interests and trying to be "different", we have to realize that only with a collectivist mindset can we truly prosper. 2. "You'll save me the trouble" Is that a threat over the internet? Please refrain from such antics, they only serve to emphasize the fact that you're immature. 3. "you'll be making America a better place to live." Yet America was founded on the principle of all of us being able to disagree. So you're saying one of two things - either you hate America or you think life here is so "terrible" compared to the rest of the world (which means you haven't lived anywhere else).
Anyways, I hold that honoring the fallen is one of the most important things. If you're unwilling to give even one minute of your time in rememberance of them, you really don't understand the concept of patriotism.
How about we also remember the other 9/11 (1973) when the US violently overthrew the democratically elected government of Chile and replaced it with a brutal dictatorship.
I think that moments of silence are good on the day that it happened but someone dies everyday and it is sad but that day the same amount of people died as any other day, and I'm sure that not many other countries even know about 9/11 and we don't know about their terrible days.

This is the point I tried to make. America has done some 911s itself yet we are taking a pointless silence over those who lost their lives in that attack?
All that silence will do is cause you to feel more empathy for those dead people. I find no point of it. There is nothing wrong with having a negative opinion of 911 but I wouldn't go any more then that.
No one said you need to publicly organize an hour of your time to sit there and feel depressed. You don't have to do anything if you don't want. But a lot of people lost family, friends and loved ones and they will most likely have a sad day of remembrance. And if anyone else feels empathetic they will acknowledge that something happened, and do whatever else they wish. I'm personally not doing anything. I wasn't personally affected. But I'll most likely watch something on tv about it, or look up some stuff about it because I forgot what everything looked like on that day. But not much else. Any one can do what they wish, and why bash on people who really had a horrible day that day, or those that want to show empathy for those that lost others?
