To be honest, I care, but not that much. I know I sound like a jerk for saying it, but it's almost a helpless cause, and it really doesn't apply to my life. When Sean Taylor died, I was devastated, and so were many of the people I know. I lived in northern Virginia which is why it hit me so hard. He played for a team we all liked, he was the cornerstone of the defense, and the story of his life was inspirational. He was getting in trouble before, but he was turning his life around, and had a little kid. I am sure it didn't hit people in California as hard, but that meant something to us, because it applied to our lives.

Once you find what the world is going through, you'll figure out that you cant cry over these things. Nor will you even think of these 3000 as much.

I have respect for them. I'm not going to feel so personal like some may, but it just doesn't apply to my life.

So I shall "respect" America's so tragic moment of when these 3000 died, and what shall I do for Africa then?

These kind of things must be put in some order. I can't have the same amount of "sadness" for 911 as the rest of the world's troubles.
I could only make a moment of silence for such a thing if 911 was the only tragedy ever. I suppose thats what you think?

And am I honoring the people or for America who went through it?...

The event is nothing in size compared to that of any other. 3000 people. Ouch. Ok, done. Now if you want me to have respect for America for this act of terrorism, well thats a different story. I am not so pleased with countries and this division of humanity, so no thanks.

My points have nothing to do with Africa. I just find 911 ridiculous. "Oh look, stupid dam Muslim terrorists want to terrorize our great democracy!"

The nationalism is blagh. This is not a general statement, not just 911.

Btw, what is the point of holding ceremonies or silences or whatever it is?

I understand that 9/11 may seem small, but it's not about the terrorists, it's about the dead americans all getting slaughtered by those planes.

Again that misses the point.
God only had one son, not 3000.
These Americans are nothing more special then any other human.

God loves ALL people as his children, and are you saying that human slaughter is not significant!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?

What I'm saying is that you see Americans as above others. That 3000 AMERICANS dieing is suppose to be a huge deal. I meant that Jesus is the only son of God, these Americans are not as special him. So when there is bunch of people dying all over the world, we cannot feel so sad because 3000 died because of this.

Thanks for clarifying...

stop twisting my words, there are other people that have been massacred, but I don't know of any other example of 3000 people dying at the same time

Is 7000 soldiers in 20 minutes good enough? (Civil War).

Even so...

The Armenian Genocide. 1.5 million in 1-2 years.
Holocaust - 6 million jews.
WW1 - Over 8 million
WW2 - About 56 million casualties.
Stalin Era - 10 million?
Kinahka Congo Civil war - Over 3.5 million.

Meh, enough.

Why makes people so attracted to 911? The only answer I have is that they are not aware of things.

I understand having a big memorial the first few years after the attacks, but I think it should be moved to further increments from now on. For instance, on the 10th, 25th, 50th anniversaries and such.

The hijackings played their parts in uniting the country under a cause, but now the country seems to be dividing again. We should let them drift from our mind and focus on other things going on the the world.

Oh, and Drace, you forgot to mention Pol Pot. The man killed off over 1/4 of the population of Cambodia and died at age 72 under house arrest.
