Yes we will take our moment of silence whenever we feel the need to do so, but there are others who are suffering also. We need to care for them too, but sometimes, we just don't.

Yes, very funny >_>

There is millions of Africans dying and we shall take a bow of silence for 911?

Why don't we occupy every second of our lives for every death for every war? Mmm, crying isn't going to get any of us anywhere.

Now there are moments of silence and vows of silence, but I have never heard of a bow of silence.
This brings up something that I have been thinking about, though. Why do we feel the need to remember this day and go through certain motions on Sept. 11th? Will there be a point at which we stop setting this day aside as a remembrance? Surely there must be, as I can't picture this country still thinking about this at all in 1000 years, so when do we make that decision?
Also, many of you guys are like 13 or 14 so that means you were 6 or 7 when this happened. Is there an actual connection there (I know many people lost parents, so that's understandable)?

It was a day filled with unforgiving acts of terrorism and hate against the great American democracy.

All of this here and there is quite tiring for me. I feel the need to argue with every one of these type of comments, every time. I'm just glad I wasn't in America at the time to learn about Columbus great journey in which he found the Americas and was super nice to the Indians.

The September 11 attack was nothing of major importance. Few thousand people died. /End.
We went to Iraq and killed many more then that.

Move on, eh?

History is a result of the past's contents, thus it is important to know it so we can move on in good path. Of course, we are not the ones to single handily have any impact as to "what happens next". Anyways, there is no need to look back and "mourn". Why react to all the saddening moments?

And what I don't like is how out of all the MANY, one will feel "bad" for something that happened to of their own country.

I'll take a moment of silence just for the respect to those who died. I'm not going to make a deal about it, but this was somewhat close to heart. When I lived up in Virginia, my dad worked in the Pentagon when the planes hit. Good thing he was on the opposite side of the building. To me, that was somewhat horrifying to think about.

Haha, I'll take credit for sharing that knowledge XP

Same reason we do for Dec 7th.
Or maybe I'm the only one :S Regardless, it happened in recent memory. Should we stop honoring the victims, lower our defenses again, and wait for another attack? Should we forget how it brought us together? Apparently we already have. Regardless of ANY of that, regardless of whether it's 9/11 or Pearl Harbor or the Civil War, we should honor those who gave their lives in an attack on America. Did any of them want to die? No, but that doesn't mean they didn't. That doesn't lessen the importance of their sacrifice at all. In the case of 9/11 most of the people killed weren't even of military background. That didn't protect them. They had to pay Charon regardless. The least we can do for them, for their families, is honor their memory for one god damn day out of the year, but you want to take that away, too?

And you wonder why I'm killing myself this afternoon. Ashamed to be a part of the same species as liberals.

*bows head*

When can we stop?
If people die every second, I'm going to be this way forever.
Is a bow of silence really the way to solve problems?

Didn't mean that in a literal sense, by the way.
I meant killing myself on the inside.

Well they were are citizens and they get kicked by some terrorists, and destroyed tons of property. I think a bow is deserved.

People in Africa are dieing because they are broke, we can't help them. And you're right, there are millions. So am i supposed to bow that many times? No, so until then, is it asking that much to honor your country (erm...providing you live in America) for 5 seconds?

BTW: Until we can help Africa a little some advice:

Bugs are an excellent source of protein.

@Mega,

It wasn't a sacrifice. Sure it was them over the others, but they had no intentions of it. This is what honor is all about.

Is a bow of silence really the way to solve problems?

Heh, funny. one person uses it incorrectly and we all copy.

I know that this hurt many, but a "bow" of silence won't help too much. Maybe a minute of silence anytime during the day. And not for one single event, like 9/11. For all the people dying in The Russia War and the Iraq war, all the people dying in Africa, and all over the world. And for all the people already dead in past wars.
