i dont beleive in global warming because i think that it is so gradual that by the time it is dangerous the next ice age will counter act it

Does any one else have any views or opinions about that?

Nuclear energy is not necessarily a 'clean' energy source. The wastes it does give off may not contribute to global warming but they are not 'clean'

Hydroelectric Power also has many downfalls, living in British Columbia, hydroelectric dams have many detrimental affects on wildlife.

If you are going to use 'clean' energy resources, they shoudln't just create other problems.

I believe if energy resources are to be changed to combat global warming it should be to geothermal and solar energy.

Nuclear can actually be a very clean energy source, while it does produce waste if you don't throw away the Pu and U-238 and don't use a once through fuel system like most countries currently do then the waste only has to be stored for ~300 years before it's gone.

I'm well aware that Hydro causes environmental damage as I do live in the Pacific Northwest nearby several Hydro plants and they do produce issues among environmentalists here as well.

That said Hydro, Nuclear, and Geothermal plants are some of the best in terms of their energy produced per carbon produced. And of all 'environmentally friendly' energy production only Hydro and Nuclear can, at this point, be cheap, reliable, and also meet spikes in demand.

Who knows how many tens or hundreds of thousands of years we'll be waiting for that. Frankly I'm more concerned about the next 50-100 years.

Well, this is a confusing topic. Yes, the Earth is heating up and the Polar Ice Caps are melting and our O-Zone is being destroyed. This is all because of global warming, and some say it's our fault, some say it's non-existent. I'm an in-between-er, I mean, sure our Earth is heating up, but could the Sun be having an instant where it gets a little hotter and it's UV rays more dangerous so that our O-Zone is being destroyed? Or are we polluting and destroying Earth, our home, bit by bit. Who knows, it could be either!

Global warming is not going to affect any of us but it will affect the future generations. The earth has been studied and scientists believe that the earth goes through cycles of cool and warm. Right now, we are in a warm stage. Human impact is speeding up the process and intensifying it. I don't really get why people won't believe it.

To solve it, there is nothing we can do. To slow it down, it would require a world-wide change. We would need to change our gas cars to an alternative fuel. Some people recycling is not going to change anything. We can only hope to slow it down so scientists have even more time to figure out a way to fix it. People are too lazy and want someone else to solve their problems though which is why it would be extremely difficult to get people to change.

I will with most of what TotalReview has said. I think we might start to see some consequences in the present generation, but later generations will experience the full brunt of global. It could very well be too late for intervention. Right now, government and industry should focus more on protecting public and private assets from the kinds of threats we can expect to see in the future. Basically damage control.

I do believe in Global Warming, but i can tell its hard to avoid, maybe almost impossible.
I try to help the Earth, but its hard...
Well,overall,i believe in it.

i disagree with zombieslayer because the whole theory of global warming is that we are heating up the planet so fast that we might all die before the next ice age comes around. either that or the human body would have to evolve to withstand the climate change..

overall i agree with alguzara i believe in global warming its just heard stop doing certain thing thats would help the prevention.. you guys should watchThe 11th Hour its a real good movie explaining global warming.

They call it global warming because we are in the warming stage. Also, it is not going to make a giant temperature change in the U.S. until future generations. Right now, the ice at the poles is melting which is raising sea level. Coastal cities may be in trouble. They say Hawaii is sinking a little bit each year. Just because you don't see change doesn't mean other places don't.

Clearly there are changes in the enviornment that have been caused by humans. And the globe is getting warmer. . . But call it global warming? Nooooooooooooooo.

(People are in denile and don't want to change their lifestyles.)

Midnightday, yes human-influenced sources of greenhouse gases are affecting the atmosphere. But the average global temperature has only increased by 1 degree during this cycle. This does have an effect on the world, making the cycle possibly moving faster but humans are not the SOLE cause for the warming.

I really think it is best to blame each cause appropriately.

I admit that Global Warming is a bad name for it. People should call it Global Climate change. No, the world is not getting warmer during all of the seasons. During the summer, temperatures are warmer. But during the winter, temperatures are colder. It is not just heating up temperatures, it is making climates more extreme. Whether that means warmer, colder, stronger hurricanes, etc.
