No, that is ridiculous.
You mess up in a plane, you go doun.
You mess up in a car, 7 people go down.

You mess up in a plane, you have 3,000 feet to catch yourself
You mess up in a car well...

Your engine fails in a plane, you glide to earth.
Your engine fails on earth you crash.

Anybody can get a licence, but a pilot's licence takes hours of flight time.

In a car, there is no control tower...

Airplanes also have parachutes.

Even if a commerical plane had parachutes, the plane would most likely be going to fast and jumping out would send you into a spiral and the altitude would most likely be to high, and what if the plane began to dive? I would much prefer to die in a plane crash then land onto powerlines or into the ocean where you would most likely be eaten!

ORLY?? cause I can only think of one, the space shuttle. And that is only to aid in landings because the wings are too small to hold flaps which would be effective in slowing the shuttle during landing.

Seriously... do you really believe that planes carry parachutes?

Heres a link that prove and explaines why airplanes dont have parachutes:

And to answer the question planes are safer if you screw with the direction the you have time to fix it when your on a car if you do a rong turn you will probably be falling to your death or injured and you won't have the time to do anything.

Yes. Yes, yes, yes.

If you crash in a car, at least you have a chance to survive. If a plane crashes, it will probably be in the air. And you will either die from the fall, or die from the crash (considering that planes are usually bigger than cars).
Also, there is a possibility that a terrorist could be on your plane. And a terrorist will most likely not be inside your car.

crap. my entire conversation was misunderstood on both ends. i got confused and thought we were talking about the planes themselves. VERY CONFUSED (and embarrassed)

If we were talking about the rate of crashes per day, I would say car crashes are more dangerous.

But if we're talking about the crash itself then the airplane crash would be more dangerous. Not just the crash killing the 200-400 people in the planes but if they crash down onto land destroying property and all that stuff.

But there are thousands of car crashes everyday, so thousands of people die everyday.

Exactly.

But the real question is, which is more dangerous?

A car most likely.

There are more things to go wrong in a car that in a plane, am I right?

Oh yeah let me make a list:
Your fighiting with your wife and lose concretation on the rode and BAM.
Your driving down a mountain a deer jumps on the rode you try to avoide it and BAM.
Your driving on the rode after a long night in the bar no explanation needed.
Your driving and a motorcycle comes in your way but you don't have the time to hit the brakes and BAM.
Ect...

Know for a plane:
The pilot and co-pilot forget to but the plane on auto-pilot and they go to sleep.
The engine blows up.
The oxagene maskes don't work.
Uh..what else well i guesse thats all I can think of.

You forget that this is there job, most pilots have to pay airline companys to fly for there first year with them.

Realy, they have to pay the company to get payed... anyway so they don't go to sleep or to they do shifts like the pilot takes a nap whill the co-pilot drives or vice-versa.

thats what im saying, a car IS more dangerous

I know I did the list to prove even more that a car's more dangerouse than a plane.

Planes are relatively safe... there's very few plane accidents every year, ever. There's also less planes in the sky, but there's also less planes to crash into in the sky. Very rarely do planes crash into the earth and have engine failures... it's a plane for christ sakes, it was built not to fall.

There's only been 2 plane crashes ever totaling more than 400 fatalities and that one was in 1977. The numbers of plane accidents dwindle year after year after year

define 'dangerous'. if by simply riding in it, i would say the car is more dangerous because there is a higher chance of crashing/wrecking. If you are going to crash anyway, i'd say the planes, although plane crash safety tech has improved dramatically over the years.
