I'm not talking about a fire coming from ice, I'm talking about existing fire and ice covering the fire.

Anyways fire could be destroyed by its own power, by melting the ice, then being put out by the water.

Fire burns next to ice, ice loses. Ice smothers fire, fire loses. You can smother fire with a flamable blanket. The question asked here is very poorly asked.

seeing as ice is matter and fire is energy, with an equal amount of ice and fire, the fire would DESTROY the ice. Think atom bomb.

with an absolute equal amount of ice and fire both would lose, but water would win

Ice would win because the fire melts the ice, ice turns to water, water puts out the fire and there is still remains of the ice so yea of course fire loses.

The fire would melt the ice, however if the total volume of ice was small then the resulting water would not be enough to put out the fire, so fire wins.
