Hey bud, rabbits have ears too. It doesn't really matter.
It's probably just guesses and stories. Most of it is on hand accounts because the people were there to write about it anyway. But the stuff like Armagedon and The creation story are more than likely just stories.
Now I mean that Noah's Ark might have occured. Maybe not 2 of EVERY animal, but all the animals in the region. Because they didn't know there were more animals. And they thought that was the world were they were. Also today the great flood was thought to be a tsunami or some sort of flooding from an earthquake.
It can be annoying if people try to rub in your face, the fact that their are atheist. Though, I believe if they are just telling you that they are and not being annoying, then I find it not to be rude.

Double post fail. Yes people that have to tell everyone their beliefs the second they meet them or at any time they feel like it can get VERY annoying.
I just saw this early on in this thread and I have to say something about this real quick. What does Physics have to do with Atheism.I know its Science, but its probably one of the few sciences that doesn't contradict religion. To tell you the truth I like physics, and I am a Christian. In fact the only Physics teacher at my School is Christian. So why would you liking Physics make you an atheist?
To tell you the truth it is sad,but around my area it seems like all of the atheist are fairly arrogant about their beliefs. Its also sad,but a lot of people in my school who say they are atheists also talk about smoking marijuana after school, and screwing around with their girlfriends all the time.I'm not saying all atheists are like this,as almost all of my friends in real life at school are pretty much atheists(I swear there are tons of them at my school),except maybe one or two of them, but yeah things like that do happen at my school most definitely where people will just say hey I'm atheist. There's even people who just love to joke religion.
I find this thread rather odd having grown up in England for most of my life. Historically, we are not a particularly religious nation, most of the more extreme believers left for the New World way back when. As a result, 80% of the population is atheist. People don't go around telling people they are atheist, because, frankly, no one cares. Religion seems to be extremely important in America, even in this day and age, which is why a thread like this seems odd to me. I would say this applies only to Americans, as there does seem to be a big divide between atheists and believers.
In addition, both sides seem to be insinuating that most of the other side are in some way flawed. This is ridiculous, because, for one thing this is a gross generalisation, and for another, both sides seem to annoy the hell out of each other by having certain people forcing their beliefs on others. This should be, don't you find it annoying when people arrogantly force their beliefs on you, not, don't you think it's rude when people tell you they are atheists.

Seconded. It is rather annoying when a new friend of mine discovers that I am atheist (either by me or another friend in common) and starts saying that I should convert. I also know that some of my atheists friends annoys other with their arrogance. Just ignore and live with it.
