I dont like war but as humans it is inevitable that will always be at war with something, be its Germans, commies, drugs, our kids, or terrorists. But I think some of this current war could be averted thru peaceful negotiations... maybe.
Not that I like George Bush very much overall, If you take away the Iraq thing he was an ok president.
Also my main point is that...everyone blames Bush, but it is acctually congress that makes those decisions. People just think it was Bush because everyone said it was Bush. And people believe what they hear.
Although it is partly Bush's fault for agreeing with congress.
war is in our human nature. they're best when they are fighting.
In the history people fought to get rich, to obtain glory, to show that they're better or because their religion said those people are worse then than and must be stopped.
America nowadays fight to show they are the stongest nation in the world. like at the vietnam war they came there whit the optimism that they couldnt lose. the little asian country was smaller, underdeveloped and with only a small comunism enemy to conquer. when they saw that they couldnt win because of the growing vietcong and the support of North-Vietnam of the vietcong and the dissatisfied people of South-Vietnam. America must lose arrogance in order to grow even further in their econmy. now obama is presidant i truly believe things will change, b ut america already screwed up bad.

You can't have a war "to keep the terrorists out of our country and many others" because it is night on impossible. You would have to have ridicullus border controls (which in my opinion America already has). Are you generalising and just speaking of Islamic fundamentalists are you going to go to Irealnd and fight the IRA and Spain to fight ETA in your hypothetical war. It is stupid as has been mentined it would just make more people hate america, making more terrosrist, so you go to war and murder more people making more terrorists. Can you see the circle here.

You can't declare war on organisations that thrive on the fact that they can so easily blend into the civilian population. Besides, if countries like the US kept themselves to themselevs this terrorist threat would never have taken root in the first place.

because terrorists are made as young children. adult terrorists show them they are "chosen to defeat the great evil" and i'll bet they use the war against the mid-east as an example how bad America is. Sure this all is'nt true because much more cases are involved in that war and it's not the muslim fundamentals who are the "good guys", but small children can be told everything. so MAYBE if you'll down the war a little bit because you're not shooting at terrorists at the moment.
No they will continue, saying see now they retreated, we go on the offensive. Even if there is a ceasefire, it won't be for long, Presidents are just too big headed. I believe the middle-east started it first >_<.
