fractalman, no, for some reason this limit of firing speed works for pure, triple and prismatic gems and does NOT work for dual gems, for duals the cap is way higher, 220 for grades 3-5 (you can't supergem a grade 2) and no cap (279) for higher grades. I normally play as he said, I can even earn me a grade 4 R/O firing at 279, by combining two supergemmed grade 3 with firing speed over 150 (didn't test the actual value). Speaking of his 225 - this is the top speed if you don't pump Recharge, and is indeed achieveable by supergemming grade 3 duals.
masterchief, one minor nit - you'd better first "supergem" your grade 3 R/O to some 90 speed and place it in trap to get mana, repeat 4-5 times with new gems, then start supergemming fully. It appears that you need ~6000 mana to get the supergem to full power, which isn't achieveable with starting environment without supplements.
perhaps it is, but see, when you have a ~1M mana pool and ~20k mana per frame, you will be able to greate a single grade 11 dual before your mana pool will be filled again. He says he can create a grade 15 gem within this interval.
The balance between dual and prismatic in the last level is hard to find. That depend a lot on your mana/frame.
a dual has +60% to damage, while a prismatic has +30% max damage. But for the component you can max them almost at a dual level. Lest say you want a L/Y, you just have to create a prismatic, super gem as much as yo want and then super gem with 3-4 grade 9 L/Y to have almost the same component in L/Y for the prismatic (+all other components)compared to a dual one.
Now if you compare the micro-managing added to make a dual -> I would go prismatic. You almost have the time to create 2 prismatic in the same time as a dual one, if you suppose that you have as many mana as you want and a huge lag.
I think I've found one change in V1.2A. In previous versions it was possible from the "Stats" button to submit high scores to somewhere. That seems to have been removed. Anyone noticed that?
I'm bummed, I finally have enough for a silver medal. (Wizard lvl 605)
however, traps with a strong red component hit up to 5 monsters per shot, plus they have a faster fire rate, so these gems do more damage in traps, as long as the monster armor isn't significant.
Guys, If we put 70% traps with prismatic and 30% R/O, it is a good idea? Since you get all abilities, don't have to worry about mana and the monsters will walk slow, stun, poisoned?
I think you don't need R/O more than 40% trap, right?
@Fractalman: I've had R/O traps with 6 monsters/shot.
@Surfthenet: When the game lags too much, I get v bored. When you slow down the monsters, the game lags that much more. I also think poison slows down the game, since there are more calculations involved in deducting the poison damage.
so...any big games going on? i restartecd me 1.5b on wave 40 cuz i under-angered. goal is to have like 3b and a wayyyy better mana pool with roughly the same or better firepower
oh, right...the 5 shots is for prismatics with a decent red component.
i'm on wave 55, 14.7 multiplyer, 1 grade 12 to 50,000 max damage, using grade 11 prismatics for primary mana farm.
intended defences: 10 grade 12's with 50,000-100,000 max damage, 20 grade 11's mixed with the grade 12's, all other traps with R/C/x gems, x is an optional third component (purple or orange).
Started a game yesterday. I'm on wave 30. *41 multiplier, 10b score. Mix R/O and grade 12 prismatic traps, 35 prismatic grade 15 in towers maxed L/Y (21%/23%).
I've been thinking about saving games "in-flight."
I'm not too sure about this, but if one installs Microsoft Virtual PC and then run the game in a virtual machine, the status of the virtual machine can be saved/restored at will.
This might be worth trying for some of you. Of course there may be issues with graphics and lag that I have not thought about.
