Sometimes I'll swear a lot when I'm around a bunch of people I know won't get offended, like my closest friends.

When I'm in public though I choose my words much more carefully. I don't think I've ever slipped up either.

I've said this once, and goddammit I'll say it again!

Cussing is a way for people to add impact to their sentences. Also, they express emotion much better than most words do in some situations. . .saying 'SHIT! I stubbed my FUCKING TOE!' would have more impact then 'Oh no, I've stubbed my toe. What a dismal occurrence!"

I think cursing makes a sentence sound better in certain occasions. Although it shouldn't be used dramatically every five seconds.

I think cussing really came from a desire to insult people. We would not be the same race if we were all nice and not cussy.

"Otherwise, there'd be people going 'I'm very displeased with you. You shared a bed with my wife, you knave. I shall have to teach you the error of your ways.'"
---I think this is the way it should be anyway. That sounds so much better than using profanity. The good Lord didn't create this language and He never intended for us to speak like that. It makes one look ugly/bad.

"Then they'd cancel Jerry Springer. Think of all the children without daddies! Or, like, 4 daddies..."
---I think Jerry Springer SHOULD be canceled anyway. It's a very stupid and pointless show. All it's doing is teaching children the wrong things. Think about it.

Cursing is when you need to express anger. "Shut the f*** up!" is used commonly among my friends, and it emphasizes... well not hate, but a bigger impact. Humans are hateful, we are not perfect. Why don't you say 'What's the whole point of war?', it makes no difference. We have, and always will swear.

Also, is it really spelt cussing?

Well, I really don't see any point of war either. I realize that people will continue to cuss and fight and there's nothing I can do about it but I can sure voice my opinion. I don't cuss and I don't like it when people do it around me. In fact, my job is against it and if someone comes in shopping and begins cussing, we can refuse to serve them and can ask them to please leave.

I do agree with u but the only thing I think is diffrent is it really shows how mad u are and april thats a good job too and I also agreee with u about theres nothing we can do about it but I will amit I do cuss not like a crazy sailor (hence the frase u have a "Sailors mouth",) but sometimes I do when I'm upset or when I'm depressed is more likely that i will and therefore I end my post

Sometimes it's funny, or helps a conversation (if it's not a conversation requiring very very smart words).

They also listen to you when you don't.

I don't agree with that statement. People in my area turn away from you when you start cussing.

Haha this is funny.

I don't cuss to be rude, it's just natural.
Sometimes cuss words just flow with a sentence.
I couldn't name one person that has thought it is out of the ordinary to cuss.

AND, cussing wasn't made to say a cuss word every sentence.
You can use it to be funny, emphasize something, or just do it to do it.

They're just words. Use them however you want.

I cuss everyday. In front of my parents, girlfriend, strangers, bosses, everywhere, everyday to anybody. It's not for a lack of a better word or feeling cool it's just part of my vocabulary, I do however make a small consious effort to not do it, but it happens anyway...

Well generally it is only children 11-15 who cuss all the time, because they have just discovered their new word. They also do it to be cool. Which is why I have the suspicion that you are just doing the same...

I believe one Nobel Laureate had once said "crude language often suggest the user has a crude mind, and the lack of vocabulary to sustain thoughtful conversation."
