Is it just another way to make fun of somewone? Is it a mental ailment of deep depression? Is it just a state of mind or a phase? If nowone has made this topic why hasn't somewone done so already? Do you think you are emo? Do others call you emo? Do you think being "emo" can be stopped? Other people have called me emo before mainly because I like dark colors and kinda draw very creepy things. It is not like I draw murder or a baby dieing or something but I draw distorted and creepy creatures. Some people just come to the conclusion that they are mean and should be ignored. others come to a conclusion that, "maybe I am emo?". Thus turning into one. I have semi-low self-esteem that is recovering normally. some emo's are suicidal, and they think that they can get out of life by doing so. I do not think this, for there truly is something out there for anywone. Suicide may be the quickest way out of life, but absolutely positively NOT they best. I am AGAIN I SAY IT aithiest so I think that we do not go to a heaven OR hell, but I think we are either gone forever or are just a mass of human concesnence. So to me a life is the most dear thing to be in the entire world EVER.
AN emo to me its a person with tight black pants, purple or black jackets or shirts with skulls, ,black converse shoes and a wierd hair, sum cuts on their arms and a tear on his face, thats an emo to me

when people say the steryotype as "emo" people think of dark hair and whatnot. The thing that I find to be the "emo" is just deep depression. I also think that the dark hair and whatnot would be GOTHIC "emo" as the term where they only listen to death metal or some scary thing and they want to be like some sort of bloody demon thing. . .THAT'S what the steryotype normally is.
I think the reason some people are called emos isn't because they're emotional but it's because of the way they dress and the music they listen to. I think it's just a way to make fun of people.
well personally, I'd say that emo would be someone who experiences depression/being sad or trouble on a regular basis, or perhaps they don't like to take part in general events other people find fun. it's not that they cut themselves, or listen to a type of music.
and i would have to disagree with ngfan because its not always how they dress, because perhaps they might want to blend in and not want to dress a certain way.
Emo is a kid that has absolut NO LIFE, u can see them on the streets listening that gay metal music and creaping people out. Most of the times Emo's are gay! We mmust get rid of them b4 its tooo late cuz one they emos will get u! They will get u!!!
Emos think they have the worst damn life ever, and they try to compare it with other emos but when someone has a better one they get pissed and cut themselves so they feel better about themselves
Here's my opinion - how can you be that depressed when you get that much... well, I won't finish that sentence. What the fuck do girls see in emo guys? They're obnoxious, whiny attention whores, most of whom would just as soon cut their wrists as eat cow chips.
i'd disagree with a few of the last posts, i wouldn't say they are attention seekers or obnoxious thats probably just 1 or 2 people you know. the only reason they get so much attention is because people bring them up so much, and the people getting the most attention are the little wanna be gangster people.
you pay attention to a certain group of people so much its gotten over rated, they've been given their own label and stereo type, i think people need to learn how to get over it and stop whining and ranting about something they have no idea what the heck they are talking about.
