Is it just another way to make fun of somewone? Is it a mental ailment of deep depression? Is it just a state of mind or a phase? If nowone has made this topic why hasn't somewone done so already? Do you think you are emo? Do others call you emo? Do you think being "emo" can be stopped? Other people have called me emo before mainly because I like dark colors and kinda draw very creepy things. It is not like I draw murder or a baby dieing or something but I draw distorted and creepy creatures. Some people just come to the conclusion that they are mean and should be ignored. others come to a conclusion that, "maybe I am emo?". Thus turning into one. I have semi-low self-esteem that is recovering normally. some emo's are suicidal, and they think that they can get out of life by doing so. I do not think this, for there truly is something out there for anywone. Suicide may be the quickest way out of life, but absolutely positively NOT they best. I am AGAIN I SAY IT aithiest so I think that we do not go to a heaven OR hell, but I think we are either gone forever or are just a mass of human concesnence. So to me a life is the most dear thing to be in the entire world EVER.
Emo is a joke word, meaning you are a depressed idiot. Look, alot of people [Specially in America] have made.. really weird ways to be unique. Being Emo to some [I know some people in that "description] is fun, they don't cut themselves, but act completely.. abstract, really having a killer depressed mood. And later saying its the way they are even though they can be happy. wtf? [Sorry, had to say it :P[
Anyway, All I'm saying is 1) The description is nothing 2) the Stereotype means almost nothing 3) Goth is more.. punk skater I like black and hardcore music. 4) Finally, being totally depressed shouldn't throw you into life torment, abuse of your own body, long black hair and dark color love. .. Seriously.
Ya a lot of people are stereotypical with "emo" real emo kids are usually ones with histories of abuse and stuff like that some are just wanna bes who think there cool
WRONG!!! theres all kinds of "emo" people some coz they hate who they have made them self some who have been abused ome that are crying out for help so please if u notice some 1 emo " go up and give them a cuddle they will apprecate it loads!
Emo people start out with just having typical depression and then they state it to friends and friends tell other people soon everyone is making fun of him and he become more depressed and even though he wasn't emo before but depressed, apparently that makes you emo, and people made fun of him he did become "emo"
I also think that just like other stereotypes we have begun to take all emo people as, "The world hates me, no one cares about me, I'm gonna cut myself." is not always true.
Here is generally(by experence in my school, not trying to stereotype) what an emo is. A person who was suffering depression who instead of getting over it decided they were the only with problems and everyone should fell bad for them.
an emo is someone who is 1)depressed because of life 2)cuts himself on purpose or w/o a reason 3)grow their hair long AND listen to crappy depression music

Yes i dont exactly have a self esteem and i draw horrible things (exeople being scalped and many other unpleasing things) the phrase emo is directed to a certain apareal and like certain bands and would like to cut them selves but are afarid that they will get hurt. I have some charistics of an emo and i am freinds with hard core cutters and people that have been on suscide watch. Emo are very freindly people that you just need to understand each one.
No Eddie13 your wrong on that. "EMO" is just slang it dose not mean they hate life, thats all sterotypes. And I can prove it to I mean if it were true why is Avrilllicious on AG? She is a self proclamied "EMO" but if she hates life why is she hear?
"EMO" is a sterotype another AG user called Tydus is an "EMO" I gusse he too hates life to bo on AG and talk to many others on this site.
