Can we as Americans truly say, "Proud to be an American" after all the horrible things we've done?

I actually find it hard to believe that anyone would not be proud to be an American, after all, it's not mandatory. You could always move to Afghanistan.

Because everyone in all governments of the world are honest and good people who, when they sing an agreement, will cary it out to the letter... The Soviet Union would never give up a single nuke. Never.

Like I said.
During the 80s the Soviets asked for arms limitations and supported a no fire-strike nuclear option. They offered to reduce their medium-range missiles in Europe from 600 to 162, and called to ban all weapons in outer space.
There was several instances of this.

The US was there in the first place due to the construction of the Nicaragua Canal. That could boost trading opportunities and also help Nicaragua. Where'd you get the part about exploiting land and people? If you we're really biased you could say they "exploit" the canal but dang that is quite a stretch.

The canal would support US interests. It was Nicargua's land, the US had no right in doing so.

And yes, the dictator that replaced him allowed US corporations to freely use its natural resources and exploit their people.

Now you've gone from being naive to ignorant. And in just a few days!
That is really something. If you honestly believe that they want the facilities for energy then you are one stupid cookie. (lol get my joke there) Anyway, they want nukes, that's why they built the facilities. Accept reality and stop prancing around in your world of rainbows, butterflies, sunshine, and lollipops.

So all you pretty much said is, "No your wrong.", and in the rest of the paragraph just insulted me. And you ask me for evidence. How f'in lovely.

What makes you think any nation that build a nuclear power plant is doing it to accumulate nukes?
America should start nuking every country, right?

Evidence is not just repeating what you said and making up numbers. Insert 2 credits and try again kid.

WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
As if your giving me any of your sources? You think I'm making everything up?
Jesus, you also managed to dismiss the other 10+ instances of US intervention of other countries.
And you call me ignorant, f off.

I'm proud to be an american, and at least I know I'm free, and I won't forget the men who died, and gave their life for me. The lyrics to that song are how I truly feel about america

I'm not proud to be an American, I'm glad I live in America. It's stupid to say you're proud you were born in a safe, rich country, However, it's good to be grateful for the fact you are.

Based off of your recent posts you obviously are the embodiment of all the traits you just mentioned. Please go win the Darwin award so that we don't have to deal with your spawn years from now. GTFO out of my country you don't deserve to be here.

That was obviously directed at Moe. I came back and didn't refresh before posting. Pride just because your parents were from a certain country is as you said stupid, but taking pride in the place you live and what it stands for is not.

If I had to live anywhere else I would want in such an order:

Israel
UK
Ireland
Australia
And last Vatican City so I could punch GodsHolyKnight in the face.

I agree with that but not the vatican part.

Us is/was the best country on earth, weather its still the best now is debatable but otherwise its the best.

Who wouldn't be proud of being randomly born in a country that they didn't have the choice to be born in?

Proud to be an Amarican, nice question. I whould say yes. First, we are relitivaly safe from terrorist or enemy attack, we have a powerfull army for that. Second, we get to chose our leadership. Third, you can say things like your not proud to be an an Amarican without gitting a bullet in your skull. Fourth, we can have guns. If somebody tries to break into your house you can just reach under the pellow for your trusty uzi and protect yourself. And the list goes on and on...
