I my self am a proud veg and im a guy i dont see any thing wrong with that, however my peers constantly put me down for it. I question others about it and some say that animals are kiled to keep the population under control, then shouldnt we do that to humans? are there any other vegetarians on armor? if you are a caravor responding to this please try not to be insultive i get enough from my freinds and family
the way we do it is not that animal-freindly and not very natural.
no way of killing is animal-freindly, otherwise we would have zombie animals. Also could you please define the word 'natural', Natural is pretty vague, the only thing that technically couldn't be considered natural in some form is , well, the supernatural.
Natural s very difficult to define as everyone has a different way to define it. Mine is the way things occur in nature. Yes, I relize that animals in nature are killed in some very gruesome ways but we have the ability to make it un-gruesome, for lack of a better word. I guess that the way we do it is somewhat natural and I withdraw my statment of un-naturality. I suppose that no way of killing is animal-freindly since killing isn't friendly in the first place but we could do it in a less painful way. Like knocking them uncoucise or severing the spinal cord

So why would we kill animals anyway less gruesome then the other animals natural gruesome ways? I think it would've better been phrased as: we don't have to make it more gruesome the the natural (that word for right now being the way you defined it)
We don't have to but why make it painful for the animals? Isn't it a little better if we do it in a less painful way and still get the same amount of meat and use the same amount of money as we do when we beat the animal to death. I see no reason why we don't have a respect for an animal that we basiclly live off of, if not physically than economicly.
The respect of an animal does NOT come down to its worth. It comes down to what it is, and that is exactly what it is. A living being. As such, it should get the same respect as all other beings get, and in a sense, that is the bigger eats and the smaller doesn't, torture doesn't exist. With us, Torture does exist. Animals are killed in some ways that are not humane.
This does not prove its worth, I believe that an animals worht is only up to its respect as for being a creature. After that, its just animals. There is nothing that would like to or TRY to eat humans. But what if there were? I wouldnt complain. You don't see lions not eating Giraffes. Why should they NOT? Its part of the cycle of life. Cycle of death if you want, but all in all if you die you will bio-degrade into grass and something eats that grass :P
Anyway, I'm coming down to the point at where Animal Slaughter may be inhumane but it isn't RIGHT.
Cutting their throats is best death. Some people hit them with an iron bar, but thats wrong. Since, well, they are still breathing.
And animals aren't as much as humans, I look at it this way. I am Human, I prefer Humans, I want them to live. After all, I like them best. Animals I would eat and kill, I can't starve. I can respect one, love one, but if it comes down to it I must.. EAT ONE. As long as I do it in humane fashion.
Also, the Meat Hooks is smart. Why shouldn't they do that.....I'm not following. If you think thats cruel, than you have a serious dumbness issue dude. They need to leave them on these hooks so they can be cut and stay clean. I've gone to buy my own meat, I've seen them on hooks with my own eyes. And the meat cut. Not a very grueling thing. You have to look at it with perspective, not just sympathy. Its not how the world works.
If I was some other creature that preyed on Humans, they were seriously Minority. I mean like, animal like and they were on hooks and I was something else, why not?
Same with animals, its the way of life. We want to be safe, not poisoned. So, Hooks it is. It saves rooms for ppl that sell the meat. They are held up like that because they can be lifted and moved easily.
Look through your eyes with LOGIC, not sympathy. If you had the slightest sense in your mind you could go out and see what REAL sympathy is. Not a few animals that have been killed following the order of life, no. You should go out and see things that you really don't want. Things like people in rundown countrys, war-ridden area's, Poorest things imaginable that dont' deserve what they get. Instead, I'm sorry to say, your following Animals that live the share in life they want and are fed as prey. Its life, things eat, things die, but its all done in a natural and humane sense of manner.
To the cow issue, Pain killers can screw the meat up. Also, Again, why need a pain killer? They don't stab it to death or cut it live.
YOU DONT NEED A PAINKILLER IF YOUR THROAT IS CUT! Get it? I hope you do. Its simple as that. The cows that die are the cows that have to. They've aten, bred, what more can they do. We also die. I suppose its not our fault for being human, we dont' have predators. Its sad, it must hurt to be killed, but you can't save it, you can't stop it, its how life is.
To say something more, Vegetenarism is stupid. I would like you skipper to tell me what you ACCOMPLISH by doing this. YOu dont' follow a way of life for nothing.
Also, You do have to eat meat. Sure, you can get exactly with plants and tofu and crap with Meat, but its in a different diet, and out of style order, and man made junk. To be honest, If you want to follow a healty life-style its completely smart and right to eat normally, meaning meat. You kill things everday, If you really wanted me to go freaky stupid on you I could. Each time you step you kill Germs, you are now a murderer. Har, sound stupid? It is true, though. Also, I don't get it.
Lion would pounce on its food, kill it, eat the meat it finds and leave the carcass there to waste. And when that happens, the animal feels grueling pain. To be honest, Meat hooks look sorta scary, but better than that. Hell, WAY BETTER.
Animals eat other animals that's just how it is, and just because we kill animals a different way than say a Lion would a Deer doesn't mean anything.

I actually think that the 'unnatural' ways to die is much better then being maimed by some animals claws and teeth as they strugle to survive during the whole time. Animals die. The hunter uses the carcass to survive. Thats how it's been and thats how it's going to be.
Well would you eat a human that has been prepared like that "it is clean" plus the cows arent give pain killer none what so ever
eating a human is a different case its cannibalism eating meat is required for a healthy diet as our digestive system cannot digest most of the vegetebalesso they alll end up as fibre and just make you feel full. Also to get some stuff like omega 3 which is only present in fish you need meat

@ Armed- when you start saying that "vegetarianism is stupid" I can't tell whether you're feeling threatened that ethical vegetarianism suggests that eating meat is wrong, or whether you're being intolerant.
Just as one can achieve something through practicing a religion, I can think of a parallel with the practice of vegetarianism as a way.
