What do you think about it? Cruel and unusual, or rightfully deserved? What do you think about the protocol associated with execution?

Anyone wants to see how we do it in Texas, you can find it here. You'll be quite surprised at the sheer quantity of executions.

Discuss.

ike robbing a Gas Station

If you rob a gas station multiple times, you can have your driver license taken away.
Well it's not like you're going to spend too long in jail for that. You just do your time, get out, then live your life

It really depends on what you steal from the gas station, if you steal something thats over $499.99 it can keep you from getting a job, hence, can't live your life because you can't get a job. Forcing you to do bad things.

Only jobs that require you to not be a convicted felon. You can easily get a job. It's all up to the employer.

The only single item in a gas station over $499.99 is the pumps, but your not gonna get one of those out. So maybe just the gas station itself?

Scratch the gas station, the mall has lots of pricy stuff. The cars that are always in the middle of no where. And it's easy to go over 500$, walk into a Video game store at the mall, pull out 2 ps3's and walk away.

You wouldn't get sent to Death Row for a crime like robbing a Gas Station, so wouldn't you rather do that than shoot a person (Implying increased death row, non-fatal.) and get sent to death row?

How about you don't commit a crime in the first place.

Then lets have everyone get back on topic.

Really? For robbing a gas station? That's weird. My uncle's had 8 DUIs, but he still has his license.

it all depends on the mental stability i think.

if it was premeditated, gruesome, and you had a murderous motive, lets get the needles!

but if your insane, killing because your mid "told" you to, you should get life, or get institutionalized

The death penalty can be used only when there are lots of evidence that prove that the person did the crime. If there is any doubt, it should not be used.

Why should we kill people to teach them that killing is wrong? What are we teaching these criminals if they're dead? How do they really repay their debt to the community if they die? Say I had kids, if Billy hits Bob, should I hit Billy to teach him not to hit?

Yes. Then he knows the pain that he has inflicted upon others and will not do it again.

Yep. Same reason as IpwnU2day. Corporeal punishment is the best form of punishment. Children are similar to dogs in their learning habits. You can yell at them over and over but they learn nothing. You give them a good whack and they will learn for quite some time not to do it again. Same works for execution. Only difference is they die. That should make them learn not to do it again in hell.

And for those with the argument that they should just be imprisoned so they can show their communities or whatever that they are sorry, chances are they will spend the rest of their lives behind bars. They will NEVER be a productive citizen. Even if they get out, no one will want to hire a murderer.

I would never hit my own kids, fighting fire with fire is foolish since you'll just spread the fire. What happens if my kids grow up and they get really angry? Then I've taught them that hitting people will solve their problems.

Besides, child services will take you in for hitting children.

If child services want to take my kid for me slapping my kids for getting suspended at school, I'll see them in hell. As in, I'll send them to hell. I would die for my kids. Growing up without their parents is quite bad for them. Foster parents can do nothing for them. Only the real parents can do something. I don't care if they send me to death row, they won't be taking my kids from me.
