Since I have joined Armorgams . . .I see a lot of Atheists and their threads about why people believe in God etc . . . I wanted to start a thread about the bible and christianity.
The purpose of this thread is to debate a different book of the bible each week. We will discuss lessons, morals, and different stories.
We will have friendly debates. Please . . . if you are atheist or of other beliefs . . . you may discuss in this thread, just PLEASE no fighting, flaming, spamming, trolling . . . etc
This week we will begin from the beginning . . . .Genesis
I am a personal beleiver in God and the Bible. I, however, also beleive that the Bible had occured, just in more earthly ways. There has also been one question bothering me: what if all us(Jew,Islam,Christian,Bhuddist,Hindu)have only a piece of the puzzle. Despite this, these religions' main object is to help you be a better person, as is the moral of all these religions. Be a good person, that's all God expects or wants out of you, whether you beleive in him or not.
this is a good christian poem, i almost made me cry when i read it,i got all teary-eyed.
Footprints in the Sand Poem
Last night I had a dream. I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonged to me, the other to the Lord.

ok,sorry for the constant posts, but i found the problem and fixed it Footprints in the Sand Poem Last night I had a dream. I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonged to me, the other to the Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it. âLord, you said once I decided to follow you, Youâd walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I donât understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.â
The Lord replied, âMy son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of suffering, when you could see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.â
Well see I think God has enough heart to give the nice Atheists or like respectful people who follow other religions a piece of the chicken if you know what I mean.
As for Atheists and Agnostics: that depends...i believe that if it is someone that is simply ignorant of God(has never really heard of who he is), and that person is a good person and contributes to the world in a positive way, then they should get into heaven... But if it is someone that lives a good life but has heard of God, rejects the idea of him, and turns him away, then they, unfortunately, are likely to burn in hell.
As for followers of a different religion: If they stay true to what they believe and live a good, meaningful life for their religion...then maybe. It depends on what they believe. I say it depends because of people like the members of alqueda. they have an intensely strong loyalty to what they believe. But God may consider what they believe to be offensive or inappropriate. but if God says what they are doing is right, and they stick to their religion right, then they should be granted access to heaven.
Then again it all comes back to one of the 10 commandments: Don't worship idols or false Gods.
But if it is someone that lives a good life but has heard of God, rejects the idea of him, and turns him away, then they, unfortunately, are likely to burn in hell.
Makes the whole 'free will' thing a bit weak if you ask me. It's like a rapist telling the girl if she does what he wants willingly he won't kill her.
Ya, I agree with kirby and WarTank. My veiw is that if they lived somewhere where nobody taught them about God then it isnt there fault, and they should go to heaven if they live a good life. For different religions, Im not really sure because like WarTank said its against the ten commandments.
