Since I have joined Armorgams . . .I see a lot of Atheists and their threads about why people believe in God etc . . . I wanted to start a thread about the bible and christianity.

The purpose of this thread is to debate a different book of the bible each week. We will discuss lessons, morals, and different stories.

We will have friendly debates. Please . . . if you are atheist or of other beliefs . . . you may discuss in this thread, just PLEASE no fighting, flaming, spamming, trolling . . . etc

This week we will begin from the beginning . . . .Genesis

We welcome your thoughts into our debates then Ferary but please dont just post things to get points like our non religeous friend did. All are welcome to join in our debates and hopefully we will all learn something from them. Also people lets remember this isnt about government issues or any other such thing if you want to start one on socialism or w/e go ahead and start your own but please leave it out of this one! We are here to discuss the Bible which some of us take very seriously, and enjoy thoughtful arguements and try to learn something from them. I do believe we have finished the two witnesses now? Unless someone has something else to say about them how about we look into Genisis again? If not that's fine but its a very interesting book in my opinion and I missed the discussion of it myself! :P

We have several people who debate in this thread that are not Christian though Kirby and often times they come up with the best debates and make us really think, for example, alt.

I'd be fine for another mental showdown over Genesis.

Exactly. Plus, I'm quite familiar with Genesis.

I'm fine with a Genesis redux.

I myself Samy believe in a pre tribulation rapture

I'm quite relieved to find one other believer of this (besides my husband but he doesn't count... LOL!).

To be honest, why do you believe in a pre tribulation rapture?

Left Behind?

I believe in the pretribulation rapture . . .because God says in 1 Thessalonians that the dead in Christ shall rise, and we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord. . .

As for the two beasts, I believe that they might be metaphorical for two people, but I am not sure.

Before I post, I'd just like to establish that, yes---I'm an agnostic. For those of you who don't know what that means, an agnosticis a person who believes in God, but for one reason or another refuses to follow any religious beliefs.

While I was born Jewish and am now agnostic, I'm still well read in many different religious beliefs and texts. And while I may only be 16, currently, I'm very difficult to defeat in a heated debate.

So, to start out: The second beast in my opinion, assuming we're talking about the Antichrist and the False Prophet, here, is not just one single person, but seven.

Revelation 13:1
"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns. and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the names of blasphemy."

The reference to seven heads most nearly means that there will be seven people, and since horns are used as weapons in animals, and there are 10 crowns, the seven would have 10 positions of power (crowns) which these seven blasphemists would use to help spread the word that Satan is God.

When one puts even more thought into it, seven is a recurring number throughout the Bible and even in our world, today (i.e. The world was created in seven days, there are seven wonders of the world, seven continents in our world, etc., etc.).

Thus, my theory is that when the world becomes overpopulated, there will come a time when Satan uses one person from each continent to herald "God's coming unto earth" in an attempt to deceive and destroy humanity.

Seven people from the seven continents makes sense . . .10 positions of power; would each person have 10 positions or 10 positions all together? And yes, I have noticed the number 7 is a reoccurring number in the bible. (7churches in Revelation / 7 lamp stands / 7 days to create world)

But would Satan clone himself in someway to rapture the other worlds humans live on?

He wouldn't clone himself because their is already evil in the heart of man . . .

Well would the only Rapture occur on Earth? Say it happens while we are starting to clonize other worlds, what would happen then? Would the 'horseman' put on space suits and head towards the moon? Lol I'm trying to be a little realistic...

It wouldn't matter where you where, if you believed in Jesus, then you are going with God. If you don't believe in Jesus, then you're going to hell.

Isn't everybody.

Good ol' copy and paste. My opinion of Revelations:

Revelations sounds like ol' John had one hella of party and wrote down what he saw. ( "d*** that...Hic!..was a whole lot of...Hic!... Booze and shroom...Hic!...Gawd this hangover!!..Hic!.. Now where was I...oh yeah! There was that guy...Hic! with that sick 666 robe on. I'm pretty sure that was Satan..Hic! and also..I could have sworn I saw some mega-hore rising out of Babylon too..Hic!..Oh s***! I forgot my dragon friends! -John when he wrote revelations)

Seriously there was like five beasts and six dragons or something.
If read Revelations you know I not making this up.

Ouch! I hate being ignored.

So let me get this straight. These 4 horsemen of death ( Isn't War, Plague, Pestilence, and death?) are going to come out of the heavens and kill everyone? I'm pretty sure we're doing a good job of that.
