Since I have joined Armorgams . . .I see a lot of Atheists and their threads about why people believe in God etc . . . I wanted to start a thread about the bible and christianity.

The purpose of this thread is to debate a different book of the bible each week. We will discuss lessons, morals, and different stories.

We will have friendly debates. Please . . . if you are atheist or of other beliefs . . . you may discuss in this thread, just PLEASE no fighting, flaming, spamming, trolling . . . etc

This week we will begin from the beginning . . . .Genesis

Jesus has never killed anybody.

He made Judas so depressed that he killed himself. Jesus didn't give him any cymbalta nor did he rise back from the dead on time.

Yeah, but thats not necessarily killing someone. That was more of a self-inflicted death.

You can't blame every death on God and Jesus just because they DIDN'T use unnatural powers to save the person.

Judas killed himself because of his own personal guilt.

EXACTLY! If Jesus rose back faster, Judas could have been like "whoa! I DIDN'T kill you after all! hehe... sorry about that. no hard feelings about that right?" And he could have lived. Instead, Jesus was like: " I kinda like staying dead. No more people coming up to me and want me to heal them, and want me to walk on water, etc. Leprosy is just gross. I'm glad I'm not healin THAT!"

You have betrayed the Son of God you are only being let alive because Jesus needs to rise back from the dead. That's the only reason why God didn't smite the **** out of him.

I would have betrayed Jesus for 30 shekels.( shekels back then were made from silver). xp

Why did Judas feel guilty? he didn't like Jesus, and he got a pretty hefty sum of cash for him. THEN he gets all depressed all of a sudden.and kills himself. What happened?

Oh yeah! I though God loved all of us. And I thought that God wouldn't interfere with human events. So he couldn't smite Judas.

I'm sure that drowning the entire world, wiping out Soddom and Gomorrah, and taking the Jews out of Egypt after 10 plauges didn't interfere with human events at all.

^ but was in the old testament where God was mean.

This is in the new testament where God is more laid back and likes man now...

God never changes. Plus he "gets mean" again when the world is destroyed by fire, meteorites, demons, eathquakes, water turning to blood, and all that other good stuff.

Why is Jesus telling me to turn the other cheek, and yet Abraham is telling me to never submit?

Judas was allowed to do what he did because it was part of God's plan. God wouldn't have smite Judas even if he did realize Jesus was coming back.
