After putting some thought into the status of our public school, and the intellectual presence of America on the world stage. I've come to realized than the majority of our problems could be solved with smarter kids and the best way to get smarter kids is to get a better public school system.

And now debate.

The private schools are hogging some much needed money that could be used to make public schools a lot better.

that money comes from the private pocket of the parents that send their kids to this school. if you close the private school, this money is not going to the public sector. it stays private money.

and if public schools are that great as you said before, then why do we need so much money to improve them?

ok, so how about just call it an "Advanced private school"? Instead of putting it in some rich tycoon's pocket we can put the surplus money to improving public schools abroad!

if the people want to give the money to the tycoon, how provides great education for their kids, than it is their free choice

maybe that is even true. but i think, it is never right, to force people towards decisions.
this is what we call freedom and it is a democratic principle.

and as long as those people pay taxes and therefore also for public school, the public schools get more money than if everyone would be pay for school directly

Sure, capitalism doesn't force people to do anything...

i do not see where it does.
you can distibute your capital(including lands, material and work power) the way you want.
if you are really motivated you can even let your workers make the decisions. noone does oppose to this.

Well you could argue that. But you can only do what you want if you have the money to. And there isn't enough for everyone when you have a small amount of people with billions of dollars.

Also, what if like here in the United States, jobs are becoming a trifle bit scarce?

you can do what you want with your money. so if there are enough people with an average income, and they decide to boykott a company or stop sending people to private schools, than these schools, companies or whatever go bancrupt quickly. as long the governement does not use its socialist methods to save them with taxdollars.

so you can make your decisions. the decisions of one individual are simply not important enough to be able to change the whole economy

Lower taxes. That's what Ronald Reagen did and it worked out well.

And do you know what ended up happening years later? Another bloody recession! Lower the taxes of the majority by making the taxes of the rich much higher! That is only fair for the nation and to the economy.

I live in California, which is home to the second-largest school district and one of the best public university systems in the world. The biggest problem we have in this place is funding, because if any state is in an economic sinkhole, it's California. Teachers are having to teach larger classes with occasional "no pay days," and layoffs are happening all over.

My friend who lives in new jersey said his school is getting closed down cause the New Jersey Governor is greedy. The governor is combing the small districts with the big districts. All he wants to do is keep money for himself instead of spending it for school.
