Hmm do you live in Licking county because if you do we might have a problem :P but I kinda doubt it.
I'm not homophobic, not in the slightest... In fact, more often than not, gays don't bother me. "Good for them," I say.
But flaming homosexuals bother me in an unusual amount... I can't stand how flamboyant they are, how they seem to want the whole world to know that they are gay... I'm probably being a jerk, but I just can't stand it. Maybe that's just their taste... Still, I wish they would at least try to look "normal."
I dunno. Ignore this post. It's probably useless. >_>
It is stupid that people make fun of homosexuals or if you are afraid of them you should be afrid of every one because they are just like everyonr else. (ecept for loveing the same sex)
Theres always some kind of reason behind something you may not think about it but it is there, maybe your fear of the dark comes from a past event or things you already know about the dark that your might be part of your fear.
I could be wrong and you just don't like the dark.
Actually my imagination is just too good at freaking me out when my eyes aren't able to tell what's really there. That's a reason, but that doesn't make it rational. I'd never claim fears to be without reason, but they are often irrational. In my case, because I KNOW there's nothing in my room that wasn't there when I could see it, but when I can't see it I ... can't see it. D:
I'm assuming something similar to be true about true homophobes who are genuinely afraid of homosexuals. There might be a reason, but if they use just a smidgen of intelligence, they'd probably conclude it to be irrational. That won't make it any less real, so... Still problem.
Also I'm terrified of spiders, not just poisonous ones anyone even dead ones * shudders*
Irrational fears are annoying, aren't they?
Well, if they're holding hands and saying, "Your eyes are so sparkly!" Or what ever gay guys/girls flirt like.
*snigger* Okay, point understood~ Honestly I'd get uncomfortable if any kind of couple said that. >_> Then again I actually get sort of awkward around all the couples I know when they're being cuddly.
I'm not gonna take crap from some dude I've never even met.
Since when is being flirted with the same as "take crap from"?
Any homophobes that are able to give a reason for their fright of homosexuals? Or is it just fundamentally irrational?

Take it from a homophobe: it's just irrational. The solution is not hatred. The solution is to ignore and to avoid as much as possible. It works. We're all happy.
fear OR antipathy also just because that's the decided definition doesn't mean it's true it'd be very hard to create a completely true definition of a word.
You asked for proof that ate can be put under homophobia aswell. The fact that we said that it can be part of it means the or doesn't prove anything in your favour. Anyway, like I said, you asked for proof and now you're not accepting the only proof you can give regarding words... Please, help me out here, give me something to work with.
If a gay guy ever tried to ask me out, I'm sorry but I'd probably punch him in the face.
So you can bash a gay guy for asking you out without knowing you're stright eh? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. And what would oyu think if you asked a girl out and she beat the shit out of you because she's a lesbian. It's the same thing. Would that be acceptable.
Funny story, there's this really shy gay dude at my school and these guys were pushing him around and me and my mates saw it and beat the living shit out of all of them. Including out of all the times I've done community service and cooked for homeless people etc that was probably the most rewarding thing I've ever done.
@Zoph: all phobias are irrational, do I'd assume no reason could be given. . . .
I'm afraid of the dark because my imagination is good at freaking me out. Irrational fear, but I have a reason for it (imagination). That something is irrational does not necessarily mean that there is no reason for it.

It's like the "agree to disagree". X) Nothing's solved, but it's not a problem anymore. A fair solution.

Actually in ANY case of someone hitting on you (whether it's a guy to a guy/girl or a girl to a girl/guy), I'd say there's variants where it's at least understandable that you wanna smack the person. Some people don't know they're coming on way too strong or just don't care (I once got groped on by a random stranger on a train station, no kidding). That said, no, I don't think it's okay to hit someone because they try to flirt with you, unless they're WAY over the line. And then their gender/orientation doesn't matter.
