I personally do think there will be. And as far as this "war on terrorism" goes it might lead to WW3. I want to know what you guys/girls know. And keep to the rules.

Well there has to be a WW 3 because not everybody gets along with eachother.

Well, that is not the case. A War can happen just because they are fighting for freedom. Not because they can't get along. The countries in a war are usually fighting for something. Not because they just don't get along.

There probably is going to be a WW3, as well as a nuclear winter, because now most countries are developing nuclear bombs for their arsenals.

Well acording to the prophecies, the world will end when a God comes to earth. All that means is that when God comes to earth, he will separate the good and bad. The good will go to heaven, the bad will go to h***. What this has to do with WWIII is that WWIII will happen but it will be so bad that God has got to separate everyone or else it will devistate the entire earth. It will not be a war on foot or won with guns, it will be won and lost with nuclear power. Our technoligy is way farther than what it was back in the other WW. There are many people who beleive that WWIII is coming soon but it is actually far away.

I don't think the question is:

"Will there be"?

I think the question is:

"When will it happen"?

Ha ha, I'm quoting a quote.

Anyways. Seriously?

There were terrorists way before Bush was in office, and might i add that the terrorist problems were way worse and out of hand before Bush stepped in. When Bill was in office, he practically promoted terrorists. For example, when Afghanistan and the rest of the Middle East had Binladin, they wanted Clinton to take him. But Clinton denied because he said "he had to many worse issues to deal with". After that Al Qaeda and Hussein went loose and wild and screwed up the middle East even more. Then when Bush came into office, we Liberated Iraq by capturing Hussein, and now we are driving the remaining Insurgents out, and they are slowly lessening, and AL Qaeda is weaker and Binladin is on the run. So i think that you ought to be thanking Bush, not criticizing him.

I cannot see there being a WW3 anytime soon. As the worlds economy is so intertwined it would not be able to hapen these days. There are no nations that could survive as autarkys nowadays with so many different kinds of foodstufs and raw materials needed. There can be small wars even mid size wars but a world war. I doubt it.

Yeah thats a perfect point. Because that is exactly what the Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan are. But they are not going to be World Wars anytime soon.

Something that really disheartens me is the fact that in these threads people always say things like 'theres going to be a war sooner or later' and not say anythinge else. Mankind is in a sad state that its beings have so little faith in themselves over their primal instincts that they think war is inevitable. Not only this but the fact that we almost expect it to happen just like England football fans thinking we are eventually going to win the world cup with no evidence to support this statement!

That is a brilliant point and it makes sense. Self doubt killed the cat (i just made that up and i am not positive it makes sense).

But this can also be applied to the other side. People who are all like "There will be no World War 3" then end there post. That is almost sad because they are so positive there will not be one because they are scared to hell, but they have no evidence to back themselves up.

Well i just think if you are going to condemn mankind with a single statement then you shouldnt to be frank. At least back up your opinion with something. I can see how you think blind naiiveity can be dangerous because then we(mankind) would be more shocked by warif it came however i think defeatist pessimism is a worse attitude to have. I myself belive there will be no WW3 for 5 reasons.
1. Like i said before the economic pressures on countries would be too great as there are no autarkies in the world anymore as there are too many people for this to happen, evenm if governments prepared war economy strategies.
2. I have faith in man and that the good tree hugging people of the world will prevail against evil ones.
3.WW2 started from a series of monumental cockups and for anything i belive we have learned our lessons. We also havethings like the UN to stop potential wars developing by nipping it in the bud with diplomatic means.
4.Albert Einstein once said that one day a machine so devastating and so powerful will spring form the mind of man and that a war would mean the end of the human race. With hindsight you can see nukes are this very machine. Despite all the signs of so called 'evil countries' like Russia and China and all the 'signs' of war mongering, Russia in particular in Georgia, no nukes have ever been used in a real war time scenario sice WW2. belive that if the world can sustain 40 years of 2 rival superpowers at each others throats without a shot being fired then we can survive without another world war.
5. War has changed. The tactics and weaponry are changing as the tehnology of the militaries around the world develops exponentially. All the armchai pundits and keenos who want to get out there and punch johnny Nazi sadly for them their days are over. War has chanhged vastly in the past 10 years let alone the last 60 since WW2. But happily all the military men i have worked with and the top brss know what they are doing and know the dangers of a large scale war and do not want it. When military people do not want war in my opinion we are in safe hands.
