That's a negatory. Only if they're posing a direct danger to you is it legal. Then it becomes voluntary 1st degree manslaughter. Which I believe is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

If someone breaks into your private property, you have every right to beat them up, and if they pull a gin or knife you can kill them. Trust me there was recently a case like this in my town, and my Moms family beat someone up once for trying to r*** my great aunt several years ago.

But the fact is he's not on your property. And if he breaks into your house, then goes home, you can't go over to his house and beat him up. While you can use reasonable force against intruders, the question wasn't "Someone broke into your house and is trying to rape your great aunt, do you kill him or torture him?" It was, "Someone cut one of your pets legs off. Do you get back at him by killing him or torturing him?"

Even so, all you could get away with would be a beating. And remember, he cut off your pet's leg, so he has a saw/machete/knife with him, and your dog is lying there bleeding. And your choice of action is to beat him up, call your cousin to come beat him up, at this point it has turned to assault, have your bleeding 3 legged dog attack him, then turn him to the police IF he was alive. You had better pray he was alive because if not, you're gonna be in jail for a long time, and even if he was, you'd probably still have to do time. And as a result you would lose your dog anyways. So think, was it REALLY worth it?
