Even so, all you could get away with would be a beating. And remember, he cut off your pet's leg, so he has a saw/machete/knife with him, and your dog is lying there bleeding. And your choice of action is to beat him up, call your cousin to come beat him up, at this point it has turned to assault, have your bleeding 3 legged dog attack him, then turn him to the police IF he was alive. You had better pray he was alive because if not, you're gonna be in jail for a long time, and even if he was, you'd probably still have to do time. And as a result you would lose your dog anyways. So think, was it REALLY worth it?
Ok, if he has a knife and attacks me with it, then I can kill him like I already said. I have 3 dogs, so if he only gets one the other 2 would rip him apart. I would have someone else take my dog to the vet while I was beating him up. And calling my cousin still wouldnt be assault, With my aunt people who knew my aunt were walking down the street and came to beat up/ stop the guy too. Again, with the case in my town, the person who owned the house being broken into owned guns and the people breaking in stole the guns. So the owner grabbed his own gun and tried to get away, but came face to face with a gun holding a gun to his face. He shot the guy and killed him, but wasnt charged.

But if you took the time to call someone, he would get away, so the only way to call someone would to be to first off incapacitate him, THEN call them. And at this point it is assault because you are using excessive force.
Ah..."what if" scenarios. I would be very sad that this strange occurrence happened to me and I would notify the authorities. I would describe the man to them, and perhaps justice would be done upon him. I advise you get some psychiatric help if killing or torturing is the only solution to this problem you deem suitable. Very messed up mindset imho...

Yeah, but don't be all buff like that "Oh yeah, I could take a lunatic with a machete by myself." Think of all the variables in the equation and ask yourself can you REALLY take this guy without any risk of being brutally attacked or killed? The answer is almost always going to be no. So no, you're not being a realist, you're pretending to be macho so 12 year olds on a flash game forum will think you're cool. I bet you feel so good about yourself right now.
I don't have a pet either. If I catch this guy going into our house with a knife slashing into air I would call 9-1-1 than hit him with a chair into the sofa, tie him up and make him watch dora until the police arrive.

You realize most of us arent really serious. Im 13 so I doubt I could take on a full grown man with a knife, In real life I would try to save my pet and when Im done with that Id call the cops and describe him as best I could.
