Is god willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both willing, and able?
then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him god?

BTW - I am not trying to tell you or anybody else that believing in God is foolish, however, believing in the bible, with all it's various writers, stories, and interpretations is somewhat like believing that
something like Aesop's Fables are actuality.

Do you believe that an ""all-knowing and all-loving" entity could or would punish by condemning men and women to not be equal and to inflict pain unto others? The bible claims that God is an unselfish being and we are "created in his image", however, the statement above shows us that he is judgmental, highly greedy, and downright malevolent. Contradictions, such as this in the bible, abound. They are an excellent reason to not take the bible anymore seriously then you would any other fable.

But man did not listen, if you got in trouble wit you dad, would you get off wit just a warning ?? God is our father, he treats us like children, yes the pain of childbirth is a very harsh punishment.

I understand, but its still has gods word in it, its still what god wanted us to know and do. and it does have his law in it.

if you look, you will find. there is proof that there is a god, you just have to look through chilidren's eye's.

lol, you basically just said look through the eyes of ignorance and being naive.

yes and no, yes he wants us all to think of him in a drffrent way, but there is only one way to get to heaven, just like there is only one way to eat or something in that matter.

so basically god is evil because he makes sure we all think of him differently and only some people think of him the right way and will get to heaven. ok got it.

My father is REAL ...he is not a "all-knowing and all-loving", therefore he makes mistakes. God is suppose to be "all-knowing and all-loving" but according to you and the bible this cannot possible be true. Someone who persecutes others because they don't believe in what the persecutor wants them to believe in is evil. This is what you are summing up (without meaning to) in all of your posts on this thread ...it's OK to be evil, if you're God, because only God has the knowledge to be evil ... lol ....what????? Don't you see that you are contradicting yourself? That's exactly what religions have done for thousands of years and you're buying in to this hogwash. Please, I beg of you, give your own mind a chance.

yes and no, some of the people that had faith in God, had a feeling not to go in to work that day, they dont know why but the just did not want to go, that is faith in god. god saved them. he wanted to save all the people but some of them did not listen to the holy spirit inside of them.

This doesn't show me that god had anything to do with it. People get bad feelings about stuff all the time that turn out to be nothing. Just because in this one instance it turned out to be right means nothing. Also if it wasn't for faith the people who caused the destruction wouldn't have done so in the first place. Something you seem to completely ignore here.

Your still making no sense here. You simply can't have it both ways.

But man did not listen, if you got in trouble wit you dad, would you get off wit just a warning ?? God is our father, he treats us like children, yes the pain of childbirth is a very harsh punishment.

Seeing as god in that story punished all women for all time this is more like having a sister who got in trouble and you were punished along with her even though you didn't do anything.

Please, I beg of you, give your own mind a chance.

I would like to echo this sentiment. That little voice in your head is not god, it's you. I think you sell yourself short to think otherwise.

I heartily agree. If it is true, and I believe it is, then we must be our own God.

...and the gates of heaven opened unto thee (oh wait, I don't believe in heaven) ...ok ...

That, valkyrie, is the simple truth. APPLAUD

No I did not completely ignore that, Im talking about the faith in God, not the other Gods and Idols people believe in.

lol, you basically just said look through the eyes of ignorance and being naive.

children are more aware of God, and are better wit God than most people are.

.

but thats the thing.... you can.

its really more like a child getting the aftermath of what her mother did.

YAY someone is wating 4 me !!! (sry im really hyper right now)

so basically god is evil because he makes sure we all think of him differently and only some people think of him the right way and will get to heaven. ok got it.

lets put it this way .... if you dont listen to your mom and dad do you think they will give you .... oh lets say a cookie, when you dont listen or obay you dont get a cookie, you get a time out .... (sry for the randome answer to it)

My father is REAL ...he is not a "all-knowing and all-loving", therefore he makes mistakes. very well put ....and very well thought out, but im not saying God is evil, he cursed us wit what out first mother and father did *adam and eve* im cursed wit things my realy mother and father did. its not evil. there is nothing else I can say to that, if you dont believe what I say about it, I cant make you and I dont want to make you.

*shoots judge that gives 9.9*

for once ... I agree wit that lol

Actually, like I said before, you are unknowingly making statement that pertain to the fact that God is evil. For instance, the statement "he cursed us" is a statement that is indicative of the act of evil.

If I was "all-knowing", I would have the knowledge that I wouldn't need to curse anyone since all others, compared to me, are ignorant and are not aware of consequences. If I am "all-loving" I would NEVER feel the need to harm anyone in anyway through any means.

there is nothing else I can say to that, if you dont believe what I say about it, I cant make you and I dont want to make you.

Once again, you are ascertaining my belief that you really are not speaking from within your own mind, but rather from the bible you read, and the people who teach or have taught this belief to you.
You truly believe YOU are speaking the word of God. Now, tell me, how does THAT work?

Ok then how about other examples. If it wasn't for faith we wouldn't have had the holy crusades.
If it wasn't for faith we wouldn't have had the dark ages that brought plagues and mass deaths and stunted human development for hundreds of years.
If it wasn't for faith we wouldn't have laws denying certain people rights others have.

All of this is because of faith in the very god you speak of.

children are more aware of God, and are better wit God than most people are.

Children also believe in the Tooth Fairy and Easter Bunny. Does that mean children are better with understanding who leave money under there pillow or who hides the eggs?

but thats the thing.... you can.

If only one path leads to one place you can't take a different path to get there so no it doesn't work. That's one of the major flaws with Christianity is that it deals in such absolutes.

its really more like a child getting the aftermath of what her mother did.

So under that so of system if your mother drinks and drives even if you weren't there you should also be charged with a DUI as well as every female descendant you have. This is hardly a loving or good system to use even for our imperfect human standards let alone standards a supposed perfect all loving being should be using.

lol I kind of hope this thread wont die.... I like it

I agree this is the first time I have really jumped in to debate theistic views since I started to consider myself an atheist.
