Is god willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both willing, and able?
then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him god?

There was a guy in Florida named God. He sold cocaine in front of a church.

Then why does god give humans the ability to kill others.
If he is omnipotent, he should be able to give humans free will yet have not think of murder

God gave free will.... but the devil put it in the minds of humans to kill each other.

If for some really weird reason that were true, then why didn't God purge the idea of killing from human minds? Too lazy? If there is free will but God wants to get rid of evil, then God can't exist. Free will can cause evil, and God isn't getting rid of evil. Terrorism, the Taliban, Hitler, Nazis, free will allowed them to be the evil that they are and were. God did nothing about it.

And if the Devil put violence and killing in humans minds, why didn't he put it in everyone's mind? Not everyone is a murderer on the planet. Did God allow only certain people to be subjected to the Devil's indoctrinated violence? If so, God did not create every man equally, and he is cruel for doing so.

Or, we can just say that he doesn't exist and he doesn't have to be cruel.

no, again it goes back to free will and what you put in you mind.

He did put it everyones mind, some just picked not to act on it or not to think about it.

No God did not allow that, the people who trust and believe in God will not act on what the Devil puts in there minds, The listen to the voice of God and Listen to what he says is right.

God tells us what is right and wrong. He tells us what he wants us to do, but he lets us pick if we want to or not.

I'm sorry but I just can't see how this is true. And I don't ever remember God telling me what is right and wrong, and I did believe in him at one time. There is not what God said to us, because he never said anything to us, there is only what we know. The devil didn't put violence in our heads, that's probably just some metaphor for the people who chose to be evil.

its not like God opening up the sky and talking to you, its more like a feeling inside of you, and just because you dont think God did not talk to does not mean that he didn't, It takes time to understand the voice of God, you have to understand that God is not going to make you listen.

Yeah but maybe at one time I was listening very intently but heard nothing. Why? Am I not righteous enough? Trust me, I used to believe in him as much as anyone, but then I got smart, no offense. I got smart to realize that there was nothing out there to say anything to me.

And ShylaGirl has God said anything to you? Have you ever gotten a feeling that he is telling you something? I think you people are listening for something that you'll find never really was there in my opinion...

Well IDK about her but personally I have many times in my life.

What exactly were you listening for?

Like others said, I saw this in another thread, but whatever.

I think that God doesn't have physical restrictions, but moral restrictions. Like, if nobody is watching, he could do basically anything. Imagine that everything we can think and believe and WANT to do was impossible to change, like our own DNA. Now, imagine that everything we can and cannot do was as easy to change as our own thoughts; we can fly if we want, turn water into wine if we want (most useful), etc.

If you see what I mean, God's restrictions would be like revealing himself and violating our free will; not a physical one, but a moral one. I also made a post in the "Calling all Christians" thread about this, where I explained it better, I think. One of the last few pages, if I remember right.

I don't know and I don't care. Truthfully, I never listened for anything, I just used to believe in God at one time.

Yes I have, my childhood was not the best, and I believe that if I did not have God and if he did not tell me what to do , I would not be here today.

Yeah but maybe at one time I was listening very intently but heard nothing. Why? Am I not righteous enough?

No it does not mean you were not righteous enough if anything it was the church you were in, may I what type of church you were under??

I got smart to realize that there was nothing out there to say anything to me.

have you ever been in a place in your life were you didn't know what to do , and then something came over you and you knew what you would do ??

God talks to everyone in a diffrent way, 4 some people he will send an angel, for others he will send a sign for them, for some other people he will just talk to them.

God is the voice in your head, he is the explanation of things you do not know and can't know for sure, but that is all he is, an idea and he does not exist outside of the world of though.

You are right on part of that, he is the voice inside of your head, but he is so much more than that, he is the reason you are alive right now, he is the reason you are breathing he made you who you are.

You think but you can still have a conscience(which some people interpret as god talking to them).
