It didn't seem like the 8th anniversary of 9/11 was very important to people. For example: on the front of the seattle times today, there was a little section on the front pg telling those who read the paper to turn to the 3rd pg to read about the anniversary. Today should of been a day to look back and remember what happened to our country. Does anyone else agree?

It's been 8 years, and the US shouldn't stop everything to honor the anniversary. After 8 years, it's old news to everyone who wasn't hurt directly by the attacks, and media caters to the majority. So, there isn't much coverage, because the majority of people have moved on and stopped caring much.

Ehh, it's the 8th year anniversary. Not really that big, and like Alt said, people have moved on. Making it a big deal again would bring up sad memories for a lot of people. I expect the 10 year anniversary will get a lot of coverage though.

Why should people care so much? There has been a far worse tragedies almost on every day of the month!

It was a while ago but even though that may be true it was the 1st time there has been an attack that big on the american mainland. and it shouldn't be a holiday, it should be a day of remembrance. And even thought it may cause those who were directly effected to mourn, then i think it is worth it to remind america what we fight for and why we help fight for others.

Exactly! Thanks for posting my mind Drace! I mean, seriously, this "tragedy" happend eight friggen years ago. I know that "so many firefighters lost thier lives" And "many of the innocent died" But really, have you seen the news. Do you know how many people die a day around the world?

This disaster killed more people than any event ever did in one day. So you can't say there haven't been far worse things every day.

Thank you Drace, again. Didn't feel like looking.

And he's got a point. It's not like you see the world marveling over those things. If we had an anniversary for every day of WW2 how more than that died. By gosh, it'd get annoying! There are far worse things to mourn over. This is also from an Americans point of view. What about people from around the world?

9/11 has faded into history already. It's not a big deal anymore for some reason. However I think the 10th anniversary is gonna be huge, and probably the 25th. But ya, 9/11 is fading into history for some reason... it was a horrible day but it's being forgotten.
