It didn't seem like the 8th anniversary of 9/11 was very important to people. For example: on the front of the seattle times today, there was a little section on the front pg telling those who read the paper to turn to the 3rd pg to read about the anniversary. Today should of been a day to look back and remember what happened to our country. Does anyone else agree?

im just saying that today should of been a day on remembrance. not only because of what bad things happened but how compassionate people were after words. so many people jumped in and started help rescue people and helping them get out. future generations should learn from that. even when things were so bad, people came together

well it was a day of rememberance.
it was covered on every tv station.(and i am not american)
it was in every newspaper(often ever page 1 or 2)
it was everywhere on the web.

i dont know what more you are expecting.

there was even a minute of silence in many places around the world at the time when the planes crashed in the towers.

i live in germany.
yes people around the world remember history.
and though it was on american ground, it was the biggest terrorist attack of all time.

thats why i do not understand the people shouting for more remembering of this day.
i dont know what more to do

EXACTLY.

It was all over the place in Canada, and I'm assuming in most G8 countries it would at least be prominent.

But it was all over the news, we weren't having moments of silence or anything. I think that's a little much for 9/11, I mean c'mon, if we had one we would have to make it shorter than the Remembrance Day moment of silence =P

If only the liberals didn't gut the CIA, it wouldn't have happened.

I agree, however for some reason I noticed a serious lack of coverage in the American media today. Even in our school we did absolutely nothing to remember it, the morning announcements mentioned nothing of it. I think it's great that other countries remember 9/11, but I wonder why that doesn't happen in the homeland of this tragedy?

Perhaps it's just fading into history quicker than anyone expected. However I do think the 10th anniversary will be HUGE, just like the 1st and 5th anniversary.

But yeah, maybe there was coverage in the morning and during the school day or something, but yeah I didn't see anything all day.

thats weird, because there was a moment of silence across the whole country announced for the us today.
it was even on the news.
and i saw a lot of coverage in american media.
sometimes i browse through some american newspages to see what happens and all i saw today was 9/11

You know what I enjoy doing?

Blaming one guy who drove a car for global warming for acid rain for ruining my car for making me take the bus to work.

You notice how funny that sounds?

There's many contributing factors, and no one of them can take the entire weight of the blame.

You know what's really sad? Every time something slightly bad happens to us, our hatred towards whomever race the people committed the attack was would sky rocket in an instant.

While we should only target those responsible, we instead attack those inside our country, blindly attacking them just because they are of the same race as the terrorists. Same thing with Pearl Harbor. Every Asian man, woman, and child was sent to nearby work camps until the whole thing boiled over, JUST because they were the same race. What they instead could have done was just target those responsible, but no, we all had to go and rekindle the Red Scare again and blindly attack everyone thinking they're part of the real enemies.

1 attack on U.S. by ethnic group >> Everyone in ethnic group bashed >> many attacks on ethnic group by the U.S.. This includes invasion of country, destroying homelands, and forcing civilians to cooperate or else. Let's not forget about the real enemies now...

Really? You think that's the reason it happened? No, it wasn't the fact that those radicalists hated us or anything. It also had nothing to do with lack of airport security. Oh and the fact that it was a complete surprise wasn't a factor as well.

hmm, like I said maybe during the morning or school day. But nothing when I got home and nothing to commemorate it at school whatsoever.

Well, during the football game today, we had a 30-second long moment of silence, and there were marines that graduated from my school that came in and lowered the flag at half-staff and saluted the flag. And other marine stuff :-)

it's a bit overplayed if you ask me. only 3000 died -_-

we aren't having a moment of silence for the Armenian Genocide/Holocaust are we?

Genocide is an overstatement, genocide is the extermination of an entire race. the 9-11 attack was simply an act to cause terror. Genocide hasn't been attempted...yet.
