Guess which one is worse, prob. the cigarettes because you will get addicted to it, and may i ask this, is there ingredients from rat poison in beer?
Maybe some of the non poisonous ones but flouride is found in rat poison and toothpaste so certainly not everything in rat poison is technically poisonous.

Exactly, don't count on it. Baking soda is an ingredient for both a bombs and cakes.
I live in Belgium, where the legal drinking age is 16 (for beers, breezers and the likes) and 18 (for stronger drinks). I'm 18 (going on 19), and tasted alcohol on various occasions, but I can't say I like it. People often tell me I should 'aqcuire' the taste of beer (learn to drink it), but then I simply ask them 'Why? To be part of the group? To be cool?' I honestly feel no such desire, and make out a perfect part of the group and am probably considered the coolest person when I'm driving each of them home...
So everything is poisonous... if you take enough of a dose. The only difference is it takes a little bit of arsenic to kill you but alot of say.... chocolate sure beer has chemicals in that aren't great for you but not enough for it to be bad. As said fluoride is in toothpaste etc. (and in my water supply in comparativly high doses... t'is why my teeth are nice)
I know this may sound hypocritical to someone who's just admitted they used to like alcopops, but Malibu is a girls drink
Also I'm curious German3945, why do you think alcohol is so terrible for young kids, when in all German states apart from 2, the drinking age for beer is 16?
Caribou Lou still kicks ass.
and, I reside in the United States. Illinois. Chicago.
I don't get it. Smoking is bad for you, no matter what age you are. And it's legal. What's the difference with booze? It's a choice YOU have to make. Not the government. As soon as you understand the consequences, it's in YOUR hands.

you don't understand what it means by the fact that your brain is not fully developed until 25 (some other person said 27, but i know for a fact it's at least 25).
Your brain develops back to front. the very front of your brain is common sense/good decision making.
even if you understand the consequences, you will not be psychologically fit to make the correct decision.
also: 18yo's getting booze means much younger kids can get booze by paying the 18yo's. 14yo's and younger could easily access booze like weed in schools (don't know about other places, but it's VERY easy to get weed here).
Sodium and chlorine mixed together make sodium chloride. Chlorine is a deadly poison.
Potassium and water mixed together create a fiery explosion. You have potassium ions and water in contact all the time. Why aren't you spontaneously bursting into flame? There's a false analogy to be had here. While I don't call for the banning of alcohol, that stuff isn't good for you. The argument that anything is a poison is a red herring.

No its not why your teeth are nice. Brushing is why your teeth are nice. We dont need to use a toxic byproduct in our drinking water to stay healthy. We know the side effects of alchohol, but the side effects of the more subversive chemicals are being trialed on a wide population sized test as we speak. Same with most things, it should be up to the individual to take the info and make an informed choice. I will teach my son how to drink responsibly by showing him how I do. Im sure he will see the other side of the spectrum from his peer group. Im not so happy however to have a byproduct in our water supply, especially when there is controversy over its long term safety.

Obvioulsy but the fluoride conentrations in Yorkshire water help as well. All kinds of nutrients can be added to water supplies and some places just have them naturally.
I think it should be okay I mean whats the diff form 18 to 21 ... 3 years wow, I think that if you dont get to try it when you younger (18)then you have more of a chance of getting addicted to it when you get older (21)
