No, US should not do it. Teens are not responsible, and drunk driving is the leading cause of deaths among teens anyway. Legalizing drinking at 18 would further increase the statistic.

Prove it. Look at Canada. Take our number of teen deaths due to drunk driving, multiply it by 10, if it's close to your or the same. You're wrong. Which you are.
and frylock, dropping the age limit won't affect the death rate because it isn't hard to get booze whatsoever anyways.
I tried alcohol, and I don't like it. I blacked out and had a massive head ache to greet me when I awakened. If only there was a way to raise the age limit to 28 and make sure no one underaged were able to get their hands on alcohol
but that's not the case so if you lowered the age to 18 I don't think it would be that big a deal. As a matter of fact minus well lower to 14 since that's when most people start anyways.
I think it should be okay I mean whats the diff form 18 to 21 ... 3 years wow,
In Illinois you have to be 15 to get your license, 3 years is a huge difference when it comes to driving. I don't want 12 year olds operating motor vehicles. The thing is, your brain is not fully developed until far past 18, and alcohol consumption before full development will do more harm than after wards.
I think that if you dont get to try it when you younger (18)then you have more of a chance of getting addicted to it when you get older (21)
What if you try it and become addicted? It's very easy to become addicted to something that's formulated to make you addicted, especially when your brain is not yet fully developed. Companies that sell alcohol would sure love your mentality...
Who cares what the legal drinking age is? Even if it was 45, people would be drinking it at age 18 or younger. So what difference does it make?
A lot of people won't do something because the law prohibits it. I know that there are a lot of things I'd be more likely to do, if it wasn't illegal.

That's a good story to support Shyla's views. If only she was around to take advantage of it...
About the nasty generalizations of Teens being responsible (Me being one), I think its easily to say that that's true. A hasty generalization is just take a guess from what you know, not from large statistics that are worldwide -- Clearly showing drivers younger than the legal drinking limit dying the most in car accidents. Now giving them BEER would make it better.
I for one love driving, and I know two of my friends have already died because they were drunk one night. Fun stuff for them speeding at 100 MPH only to crash into a Tree.
