Strop made a thread about this a long time ago, but I couldn't find it. Even if I did, I would get yelled at for raising the dead, so lets just continue conversation here.
You guys may not understand what I'm trying to ask, but it's okay. I'll try to explain.
Do you think God, If there is one, would allow a person to go back in time and change history?
This thread is mostly for Christians, but you atheist may join in too. Since I'm an atheist I think this will be interesting.
I time machine could never go back further than the day it was first turned on. Otherwise, there would be no time machine to arrive in, or one to get back in.
But as far as a god allowing it...I do not see why not. It lets incest, rape, murder and genocide happen. So why not time travel.
I don't think God would allow time travel. Everything has happened for a reason, somethings being terrible and others being worth while, but no matter the event, it's gotten us where we are today. God has a plan for us and allowing us to go back in time to alter history would alter the present and change the path of the future creating a paradox as DaveLopo said earlier, and ultimately messing with Gods plan.
he might if he thinks its for a good use,he might not if he thinks it goes against his "master plan",or maybe he does not have power against time,as space will stop before time,or whatever godly reason.but....i wish he did... i wanna see my great great great great great x 1000 grandma and proof that transformers crashed into our planet at that time lol
Don't tell anyone, but... I'm from the past. Big secret, no one must know.
Time travel is rediculous. Period. Just ain't possible. But if it were then we would know why Bill Gates is so rich. And we could prove Einstein got his theories from when he was a clerk at the patent office.
Ok, so I am one of the few Christians on this site...and before posting I would like to say I don't want to get my views attacked.
First off...Time travel is an extremely lucrative subject, and is scientifically impossible. Mathematically, however, it may be possible if you are able to teleport to another dimension and then teleport back to this dimension at a later time spot.
Time is relative anyway, so its all confusing...like if we went back in time and changed something, would we see an immediate change (for example if we killed Darwin would Evolution just disappear) or would we not notice it because it was never there to begin with. Or, if we change something does it create a multiple instance of something at the place, cause a paradox and esplodey the internet.
So on the topic of God allowing it.
For starters, this cannot be properly answered because we do not know how time travel will exactly work.
Secondly, if we use the idea of teleporting to a different dimension, that would possibly involve de-constructing a body in one place and reconstructing it in another, and so if souls exist it could possibly be separated from the body.
In the end I don't really know if God would allow time travel...I think that the world will have ended before we get to that stage in science.
I dont think God would let us time travel, only beacause it says that only he knows what is going to happen and he does not want us to know ..... but I wish we could going in time would help me ALOT , lol
