I went to a sunday service at a church (i don't go very much) and for the hour the pastor talk about some finial war and the anti-christ coming in the next 10-20 years. He said nothing about why it would happen or gave any evidence. It felt like he was just saying turn or burn for the whole hour.

How could he? It's Christianity, so there's never real evidence of anything. He just wanted people to listen to his crazy rantings for an hour.

Yeah, cause every piece of crap written there can be validated and proven*sarcasm*

Just because you write something into a book, it does not make it true.

Lawl. Clinging to the bible as evidence is ignorant. You could disregard that book as mythology, just like the Ancient Greek Gods. However a lot of people still cling to it for some reason.

This seems more like a statement then a question. I f I was to guess the question is what evidence is there that these events will take place?

Just because it's written down doesn't make it true. If that were the case, Harry Potterism would probably be one of the biggest religions in the world.

How is that evidence of ANYTHING?

A: It could have been created as a hoax sometimes within the last century.
B: The men who wrote it could have been crazy and it all could have been in there head.

Need I go on?

I hate to say it, but a lot of the church's are saying that.... even my pastor said that on sunday, the end of the world will come soon... but the pastors are trying to scare them in to turning insted of telling them the truth oh why you should turn and what can change in your life if you did... it is very sad cause the put a bad name on us.

I agree. Also if people think the end of the world is coming they won't be motivated to better our lives now. Freaking religion...

true, its just going to make them want to "live in the moment" and go away from what the pastors want to teach them.

I like having a religion to call my own, but I dont like how much some people have changed what a religion used to be (hope every thing I said made sence)

Actually I think people will be more scared and stay even stronger with the pastor's or priest's teachings. Which will make them do more praying and getting ready for Armageddon and less fixing our world today.

Also, having a religion to call your own is all well and good I guess, but what they used to be was even worse than what they are now. Now at least they don't discriminate AS MUCH against women and minorities.

The weird thing is that some Bishop (I think it was a Bishop, but Im not sure) was in the Vatican and suddenly went into a trance like state and started saying the names of all of the future Popes and it has been nearly completely accurate. The weirdest part is that it either ends with this Pope or the next one.(i dont remember which)

Personally I think thats pretty weird/cool.

Ill go look try to look it up so i can get my facts straight.

some might, but I know when I first heard that the world was going to end I was all about live in the moment. I fell bad now cause that was like 7 years ago :/

lol, I guess your right. I have never had a problem with discrimainate against women, I think that men are above women, and that women should do what the man above them says.... but thats geting off topic.
