Who thinks we all need health care? I mean it may be expensive but canada did it germany did it, and there system works. I hope they pass the health care bill.
I don't really see laziness as a big factor in employment rates when talking about the US, considering how minimal your welfare is.
Our welfare, unlike most of the world, isn't supposed to be a base income with working as the supplement. Our welfare can help out people, keep them alive until they come on better times. It's not supposed to keep you alive and happy for the rest of your life.
All health care should be controlled by a huge conglomerate of doctors and the benefits of the system should be shared by everyone in need!
Doctors are the ones charging astronomical prices for basic healthcare.
Part of the reason America is in so much debt is because since our formation we haven't paid back a cent of it. We still owe France for their help with the Revolutionary War, for example.
Sigh... Must... Refrain... from... insults... The national debt was paid off completely not once but twice. Once under Jefferson, and once under Jackson. Have I not brought this up enough or something? I can recall at least 2 discussions in which I have brought this up.

I'm certainly not disagreeing with you. In fact it backs up my point.
Being lazy isn't really an option in the US, because unless you have family money, you will starve eventually.

I beg to differ.
If you get a decent, recession resistant/proof job, even if you come from the poorest background, you can make a very good living. Hell, the freaking illegals at my moms work are on the same and/or better grounds than her (a fact of why I want to call up ICE and have that end).
Just to clarify, by 'lazy' in this context, I meant, not bothering to find any work at all. If you guys call getting a recession proof job 'lazy' then you'd probably be horrified by the UK.

I don't consider it lazy, I consider it incredibly smart.
If you have the money, become a lawyer. People ALWAYS want money, so the sue, steal, rob, etc. for it.
As for the horrified at the UK part, some of the crap the government can spit out is on par with the lower half of Louisiana's police. Some of the other stuff the people puts out is genius, in retrospect.
While I agree that all people should be afforded some amount of health insurance, I think that certain people should be exempted from it, such as convicted violent offenders.
So
"Most people are equal. Therefore most people deserve equal access to health and long life."

Oh sorry, lol. Didn't know that. Thanks for telling me.
Also, chill out. Refraining from insults is sometimes tough in the WEPR, but if a simple misunderstanding sets you off you need to chill the hell out.
Animal Farm is a fun book, and the mantra you stated is the only truly valid point there is in the book.
I think not all people are equal, but wealth doesn't determine how equal or unequal you are. Especially in the US, considering how low our social mobility is.
