Want to know why I am Atheist? It's because of how the story of Jesus came to be. His story was not written down for at least 40 years; think of all the misconceptions that could have happened between that time. I mean, it is much like gossip. It works for the first few people, but then the story starts to mutate uncontrollably.

Who isn't to say that at first, Jesus was just a psychotic whom talked to his imaginary master, named god? He could have just been walking down the road talking to "god" about the basis of his life, and what he shall not do. Later, he commits euthanasia because god told him to. See how that could mutate into the modern story that it is?

No. Such a crazy person would not have been seen by hundreds and hundreds of people after his death.

Nope :P

Anyway, I dont see why just the fact that Jesus was just a cazy dude proves that there isnt a god.

What about Greek/Roman, Hindu, Shinto, Shikhism etc.

Haha. God would never tell someone to commit euthanasia, he likes slow and painful deaths, duh.

People tend to see ghost...that, or they want attention. Remember the masses of people whom saw Michael Jackson after HE died?

God can neither be proved to exist, or be proved to not exist. Therefore, he is out of discussion.

Considering the topic is on why you don't believe in the existence of such a being, I would think this would be a point to touch on.

For me I just don't see it as being likely there is a god(s). Most of the things we initially attributed as being gods work have other more reasonable explanations. As we keep looking we find even if god did exist such a being would simply be, unnecessary.

Considering the title, is there anything to talk about here or is this just your reason why you hate God(s)?

But some religions have so many flaws that you can't really believe them,Like the fact that the world is only 6000 years old and dinosaurs were created by God that long ago

Don't think that's my quote. Though I do agree with the sentiment of there being logical flaws in religion.

That may be your reason as to why you are not Christian, but to be atheist means you do not believe in any higher being.

he ment no one has any proof god exsists, so god also can't be disproven, which takes god out of the question.

If this is really his only justification for atheism, then I'd say that's a pretty unjustified belief. I mean, okay, so you're not Christian. Clearly. But that certainly doesn't entail that you're not a theist.

This sort of angry atheism shouldn't be tolerated. It looks bad for the rest of us, who did reasonably and rationally come to the only logical conclusion we saw - that no god whatsover exists.

I still say that, at the end of the day, both sides have reasons and justifications for their beliefs. Often it comes down to something as simple as a significant experience or a lack thereof.

Do you have proof that the apostles weren't psychotic?

Paul.... you fail to see that we atheists do not see the Bible as a legitimate source of proof of a god.

the Bible contradicts its self far too many times, and it is far from being historically accurate.

Most Atheists like Myself, were raised in a theist Religion *Christianity for most*. We are familiar with Biblical passages and we read it to some extent. So please do not try tell me that I haven't read it.

Most of the contradictions in the Bible come from the Old and New Testament. That's because man wrote down God's word, and they were falling far outdated laws. In the New Testament when Jesus arrives, God is directly telling EVERYBODY and changing the laws. Think of it as a revolution against a king. When the king is dethroned, the people won't follow ALL of the old laws, just the really good ones. In this case it would technically be a new king coming into power and changing the laws for the good of the people, etc.
