well if any of u r familiar with the law of conservation and mass, then u know that it states that matter cannot be created from nothing, or completely destroyed. so evolutionists say this, then turn around and say the big bang created the universe as we know it. WTF!!?!?!?!the universe went from non existent to existent in a fraction of a nanosecond! and where did the bigbang come from? nothing? nope, because if the law of conservation and mass is true, then the bigbang isnt. simple...
I say it could be either both or neither. God could have created the Big Bang, the Big Bang could have created God, It could be one or the other, or, it could be something else. Honestly, I don't understand why people cannot accept the fact that God might not be eternal.
There are way too many possibilities. The problem with our thinking is that we assume it has to be God or Science because they are the most widely accepted theories. I just wonder why we care so much about what happened. It has already happened, so knowing about it (in this case) is kind of useless. Maybe a giant appeared, than it melted into the stars and planets. Or maybe we live in an atom and our Universe is the pimple on a but of a giant being, who in turn live in a world that is in a pimple in the nose of another one. We will never know for a long long long long time.
...and if we did know, I think it'd either blow our minds...or bore us out of them.
As for the main question, I believe personally that the Big Bang is the thought of God, who- or whatever He/She/It/They is/are. With this in mind, the chance exists that this "God" may not even be aware of having created us.
I watched a programme on steven hawking and the big bang and even tho i didnt understand all of it, its still more convincing than the bible. As the telescopes we have 'can see back in time' due to the speed of light and the delay it takes to reach us the big bang has been seen so it is true
i dont understand why some people cant say God created the big bang. The reason we say the big bang created god because we believe that God started all things, thats why.
To Woody: I don't think that scientists have said they've seen the big bang. If they had then it would no longer be a Scientific theory but Scientific Fact. Now scientists may think they've seen a big bang but there is not a very scientific way of determining whether it is a big bang or just a super-nova.
To Fishinmage: Many people don't want to believ in god period. The reason the big bang was stated was for a creation story for the Atheist population. There is no problem beliveing in the big bang and god in the catholic beilf, so I am told, but many chritians will hold to the fact that the bible dosen't directly say whether there was a big bang or not. That is why I've thrown away my religion, becuase of the fact that everything is sybolism and/or very vague.
P.S. I am not Atheist or agnostic I simply don't care anymore
Actually, Strategy_guy, there is substantial evidence for the Big Bang all around us - literally. I think I mentioned this somewhere (maybe here) but in every direction in space we observe 3 K (Kelvin) background radiation. This is a physical result of the big bang, and really the only explanation for this radiation would be the formation of the universe. What other event would have encompassed the entire universe? The reason the Big Bang is a theory is because is hasn't been observed happening, so it can't be made into a law. It is certainly not a "creationist story for the Atheist population." We tend to leave the story telling to the folks who believe in magic and all that stuff like god. The big bang was a very real event and is a scientific explanation, not a fabricated story.
To Craze: There are other possiblitys to god. Big Bang is an obvious one I've heard a couple of....well to put it simply they are kind've.....different to say the least. There is also now proof that god exsits or the bible is true. Granted there is no proof that any religion/sects religion is true but still there are other possiblitys.
To Moe: I stated that it was a creation story becuase it is a un-proven way of explaining creation. I believ it is un-proven becuase of a few missing links such as where did the explosion come from? Since people say nothing can't create something how is it possible for a explosion to come from nothing? Also could thaose radiation levels have been cuaed by a nearby supornova and not a huge explplotion that created the universe?
To Strategy_guy: The bible is true! Read the bible and you will find out it is true. Like in the Bible, one of the prophecies was that Isreal would become a nation and it did. All of the other prophecies are true also.
To craze: The Israel becoming a nation thing well let me begin by starting off and saying that that the book of revulations was supposedly written around 55 B.C. Israel became a nation around the late 1900's. Also the bible is very vague about when Israel would become a nation. If I was to say that Iraq will become a ligetmate nation or that terrorism will stop and a hundred years from now it does am I a prophet? No I'm not. Again the vagueness of the phrophecy helps its 'truthfullness' may I ask what other prophecys came true? Since I don't feel like reading revalations
Craze77: Before ANYTHING, you cannot force belief.
Also, let me note that we're discussing how the Universe was created. We do not have the need for any additional comments regarding such-and-such.
I hate it when there are thread that is unanswered and stays unanswered. This is one of those threads I sigh every time I see the title.
It is said that the Universe may have been created through the Big Bang. A paradoxical phenomena in which energy erupted from nothing and never and no point of nothingness. I find this absurd and this is why I doubt the Big Bang and would rather believe in God, but then there is the fact particles of the Big Bang still pass through us. This is proven, some kind of pseudo dark matter passes through us and that is all I know on this topic.
NOTE: I am not stating the Big Bang created the Universe. I am stating there is more proof (though skepticist's may contrare) than God, in which no solid proof of a God or deity is given.
The temperature from this background radiation is far too high to be a supernova and it's in every direction in the sky. The Big Bang is a very bad phrase to use for the beginning of the universe, since it wasn't really an explosion - it was simply a conversion of energy into matter (both of which are equated in Einsteinian and Quantum Physics). I could explain what a prominent theory in where the energy "came from" so to speak if you like, but I'm not a big fan of the theory. Of course, I'm also not a theoretical physicist so I don't get to really judge these sorts of things
