I get mad when i see Spanish subtitles on boxes or a Spanish news channel, i wonder how far is to far. I do not hate immigrants but i demand them to learn English if they come here. here are my reasons. #1. If Spanish is on a cereal box why isn't everyone language known to man, not every one speaks English or Spanish in America. #2. A country needs a dominant language to be successful and and to unite everyone in a way. #3. Language should be like currency, you should have one main one, not a bunch.
i do not think people should only know English, i encourage learning other languages, but putting multiple languages on all items can lead to problems, and possible decrease communication in the USA.
Back in Armenia, about 80% of the population was bi-lingual (Armenian and Russian).
Practically every adult speaks it.
The schools there start teaching Russian in 2nd grade and English starts at 4th. And I believe with higher education you can choose an additional language.
So a good number of people in Armenia are now tri-lingual.
I think its ridiculous how they don't teach a second language here until high school.
I am a good very citisun and I do a honest job good but my Inglis is not that great so even though I work hard and have an living well i cant communicato that great and Amehica should have my language on places many different so i can understand them good.

It does, its called English, and we have spoken it since the country was founded.
No America doesn't have an official language. English is just the most common. However with or with out an official language it seems foolish to move to a country, refuse to learn the most commonly spoken language and expect those living there to learn to speak your language. I suppose for example what if someone where to come to this forum creating posts in say, French and refused to make any effort to post in any other language. Should the rest of us be expected to learn how to read and reply in French or should the new poster be expected to post in English?
You keep saying that your too lazy to learn and want other people to do the work for you.
Honestly, I'm not sure I can learn another language, I tried in high school and failed. But my point is, when you move to a country you speak its language/s. If I moved I would make every effort to learn the countries official/most common language.
I don't think we can make them because this is a free country.. but it would help them CONSIDERABLY if they did.
Yea but if they refuse they aren't legal citizens seeing how the test is only in English, so should the ILLEGAL immigrants be able to dictate what they do in a country they are illegally in, If i break into a store and shoot someone does the owner still have to sell stuff to me. (may not be the best example)

In that case, they better not do anything cause they'd get caught lol.

You can say that again. The US citizenship test isn't written in only English you know... If that were the case, why are voting scripts written in Spanish or Russian? That is such a far-fetched example that almost never mirrors real life.
