You're right, grammar isn't important at all. English teachers don't know what they're talking about.
I used to find it hilariously ironic when teachers would talk about how doing well in school would make you rich and successful, when they themselves went to school and ended up as teachers. :P

I agree theres an english teacher in my school wh cant even spell properly i mean whats the point in that.
i understand school and why it is important. but what i don't get is all those stupid assignments that have nothing to do with learning!!! like a digital portfolio
im tired about teachers act like grades are everything
As am I... By intelligence, I'm in the upper top 10% at my school, but in grades, its around 30. Why? because I don't see the point in doing work that I will not learn from, therefore, my grades, especially in English, suffer.

Most teachers who give assignments like this don't know how to teach and they just want kids to look busy for the administrators.
Only middle-school flunkies who don't understand the importance of education, and similar types of people, would assume that school 'stinks'. Waking up in the morning at ridicuously early times does admittedly suck a lot, but it beats the alternative of waking up on the streets as a hobo for the rest of your life.
The higher you go in education, in general, the higher quality your schools will be. Wait it out, and some of the pains of attending school will disappear.
I actually like school by the way, It gives me something to do, ROTC especially, I'm even trying out for an officer position.

Almost true, my middle school was the location of the best GT program in the city and that place not only had horrible teachers, but looked like it could "rot, burn down, fall over, and then sink into the swamp."

Your grades are supposed to be a direct measure of your intelligence and effort. You can't tell colleges that you are in the 'upper 10%' in intelligence, when you have poor grades.
It is pointless to do work that you know will not benefit yourself at this stage of life or your future, but think about it. You actually learn the stuff you need to learn to pursue a profession when you attend a decent college. You won't be able to attend that decent college if you don't do 'worthless' work to boost your grades.
I tire of the average teenager's view on school. It is something important that really does set you up for the future. You get good grades in middle school, and you can potentially go to a better high school than the public one you would have gone to. You get good grades in high school, and you get into a great college where you prepare yourself for your future job. If you can get into a job that you really like and enjoy, you never work a day in your life. Many think that most of the topics in school are pointless and "you will never use them later in life". That is not the case, often times the seemingly pointless classes and assignments teach problem solving skills and are making you a generally well rounded person. If you really aren't getting ANYTHING out some of your classes, study the subject yourself and find information on it that is more appealing to you.
The thirst for knowledge in this world is waning. Will you give into common idea that "it isn't cool to be smart"?
I don't like school, but I live with it and I am one of those people who might actually want to be successful in life and not be a hobo. So I am going to school.
but i do agree with you. my neighbors didn't go to college either, in fact they are highschool drop-outs and they started selling cars and they are richer than my college educated parents
for K-12 - Yes, without these grades you will fail in life, and no one will help you. These grades are so important, look at the people that drop out, do they look like they have amazing life? No. anyone who drops-out is an idiot, and rightfully so.
College - Depends, with the economy now days, it's better to go to college for a lot of things instead of majoring for just one. So yeah, college is necessary, just go to free school first.
