I was reading over some arguments, when I saw some things that went against usual Christian logic. Apparently, against popular beliefs, you do not need to be a Christian to go to Christian heaven. This is just one example of ignorance about your own religion. So, I ask, do you theist know everything, or at least the fundamentals, of your religion? If you do not, how can you justify fully devoting yourself to said religion?
if the stories have an absolute moral meaning they would still be an absolute truth.
I wasn't arguing morality here, I was arguing truth. Something doesn't need to be completely truthful to tell a moral story. But just because it does tell a moral story doesn't make it absolute truth. Especially when you consider morality is a subjective subject to begin with.
Actually, most of those were taken horribly out of context, and if you trace them all back, they require you to be a Christian. So yea...
The sun is yellow; fact or belief? Maybe you think it's orange. Very hard to differentiate between the two.
Yes. That is my point. It's difficult to differentiate between all the different religious groups, especially ones that are under the same "flag". My point was that it was all opinion, not fact. Thanks...
Prove to me from studies you have done that the Earth is round.
Prove to me from any studies you have done...anything. Oh wait you have not. Look, we have many scientists doing research and confirming others' research so every single person in the world doesn't need to. Just because I haven't studied it doesn't mean there is no reason to think it's true. How about you prove to me ANYTHING about religion that ANYONE has studied? OH wait, you can't.

Yes it is... The OP was saying that so many people are wrong about the truth of their religion. How was pointing out that there is no truth to religion, only beliefs, off topic? I'm pretty sure that's right on topic, AND should really just end the whole thread.
Yes certainly many people of the faith aren't truly informed, I was an atheist for a while because my faith was not structured, but while many say questioning your religion hurts, it actually brought me back.
:0 Subjective subject that's going on my facebook quotes!
You seem to love to throw religion in everyones face.
Just keep in mind their are many religions and within those religions are even more denominations within that. Even then, smaller churches and cathedrals, places of worship etc etc will put their own spin on it.
Sure, not everyone is a religious scholar. Just my two cents
Universalism. If God gave people the freedom to reject Him, why would he take it away again? If He planned to take it away, it isnt really freedom.
This raises so many questions, I'm not sure if any of which would fit this topic though.

I see your point but there's an absolute moral code in there somewhere; just have to study, pray, and listen.
Oh wait you have not. Look, we have many scientists doing research and confirming others' research so every single person in the world doesn't need to.
So your telling me that we have a world full of people who don't understand every aspect of what they believe?

Universalism is bull; Jesus clearly stated that he was the only way to the father.
