We all know the Bible is full of weird things. This thread is mainly to discuss the unbelievable portions of the Bible, and why you believe them.
For a side not, if you are going to state "They are just metaphors!" then could you pleas also put what parts are not metaphors as well, as that differs from person to person... Also, if you are going to answer "CONTEXT!" please either back it up or go in a dark room and hit your head against the wall repeatedly.
Is God powerful enough to create a stone that he cannot lift?
No? If God was omnipotent, God could always make the stone bigger, and always be able to lift it anyway. If God made a stone that was infinitely large, questioning wether or not it can be moved is irrelevant, because all reference points in the universe would point out that everything within the universe is moving other than the stone.
How would God's existence "detract from any meaning your life had"?
Well then choices would be moot because the all knowing magical man in the sky would know. Really that takes away from free will. How is it free if whatever we decide is predetermined?
It is considered one of the Holy numbers. I'm not sure if 7 is considered a Holy Number because of this, or if it was before. I just know that it is one.

Ladies and gentlemen we have someone who has LEARNED! I congratulate you! Further more I ask what arguement you are refering to? Most people don't argue Mage, they just throw random opinions and false biases and say "LOOK I HAVE AN ARGUEMENT!"

There have been people who have offered good arguments. But anyway I this is straying way off topic.
=/ really... another one.. wow... anyways just a little help here. Stop taking the bible scientifically, cuz its not a science book. Thats the big problem with athiests, is that looking into a religion scientifically doesn't account with the belief or faith factor, or even sometimes morality factor. I mean dont get me wrong, the stories have changed throughout the centuries, and its basically a book involved with the changement of times. So really it gets annoying to have a religion using such a book to spread its message.. Which is why most of the time, nowadays only readings from the new testament is being read... Its a book based upon good judgement (or so called good judgement) and being a good catholic. Most stories are fable, but its what you learn from the stories that is what teaches you.
... Seeing new topics formed based off the exact same criteria from earlier topics can get quite annoying, and somewhat redundant over time. To us catholics its becoming a "Because God made it that way" sorta statement. The arguements are going to go no where, and threads made like this only bring mobs from both sides causing flaming and trolling...
I think both the catholics and athiests on this site already understand each view, but for some reason the athiest like to make the exact same thread over and over again... Its a little annoying tick everytime you come into the forums.. We cant understand your views, you cant understand ours... Just leave it be...
