The so called "Evil" antagonist of the Bible. The question comes to this: Why is he the evil one? He killed a mere ten people in the Bible, possibly more to around fifty at most, while God, the supposed good one, killed billions. The only "negative" thing he did was rebel against god, but it was a just rebel. Who would want to live under that tyrant?
So the question comes down to: Why do Christians think Satan is evil?
It's rather funny how Christians regard the different translations as good or bad depending on what corner they are backed into. On one side they say 'It's the true word of God, uncorrupted since it was given to us' and on the other 'Obviously there are lots of different translations of the Bible - mine is different from yours'.
A trapped animal is one that fights the hardest, That's not meant to be an insult, I'm just saying people will do whatever they feel necessary to keep their view of the world intact.

Almost as funny as the multitude of explanations non religious people have for the creation of earth. Argument between sects and even within the same group happens. There are however, parts of the Bible uncorrupted and some open to interpretation.
I was interested in what my Bible used, its a KJV, just color codded. Wow, I guess they didn't put it in a negative light. It was already there.

You do realize Christianity is supposed to be one belief, while atheist can each have there own beliefs? Atheism is not a belief system, everyone thinks differently. Christianity IS a belief system and everyone is supposed to think relatively the same thing...

Might want to look at page 18. You didn't read my rant/

Yeah, I guess it kind of separates the ones with the courage to believe from the ones... y'know without it. Relatively the same thing? Again, the term "Christianity" is used to make somewhat of a dictation between denominations and Catholics. So no actually, Christianity does not mean everyone thinking relatively the same.
There are four or five different sects of Christianity, I'd say their not doing so well on the whole one belief idea.
I would say in this day in age there are potentially millions, everyone has there own. But my point is they all believe the same basic things, some form of deity, some form of paradise, and said deity creating the earth/universe.
I'm tempted to sink down to your level and ignore everything you say. Because now you are just being ignorant and now seriously considering any arguements put forth. You are narrow minded and obscene, at least I have the experience of being a Catholic to justify why I cannot tolerate religion and it's devices. You merely have your own secular experience and have been spoonfed beliefs your entire life.
Looks as if you HAVE sunk down to my "level". I've been an atheist, and I did it because I thought it'd give me fulfillment. I see no narrow mindedness here, for you have not given any conclusive evidence for me to even BEGIN to think about the non existence of God. Rather, all I've seen from you is complaints about how mean God was in the Old Testament. You've done nothing on this forum but make up things about the Faith. This is really going nowhere.

Yes that's the blueprints for most religions, however the main difference between christian groups is on the Eucharist, as well as modern ideals like homosexuality and abortion.

You do realize you can't disprove something that has no proof? We can only disprove the physical ties and the logic. We have been debating the logic of an all loving omnipotent being committing genocide on people for any reason.
But if you wish for us to discuss a physical issue I have, then so be it. The Christian god stated that he would help with any problem threw prayer, that they would even be able to literally move mountains if you believe or somtin' like that.
So that begs a question: Why won't god help amputees?
No matter how many people pray, now matter how strongly they believe, the amputee will never regenerate his/her legs. So why does it allegedly work for cancer and all those other diseases but not for amputees?

If you cannot, then what are you doing here?

So are you telling me that I, Cinna, have not ever given on this forum a reason why God would kill people?
No matter how many people pray, now matter how strongly they believe, the amputee will never regenerate his/her legs. So why does it allegedly work for cancer and all those other diseases but not for amputees?
1) Blessed are those who suffer 2) There is no human on earth with faith that strong.
No matter how many people pray, now matter how strongly they believe, the amputee will never regenerate his/her legs. So why does it allegedly work for cancer and all those other diseases but not for amputees?
For that to happen would require a miracle, cancer relapse and other such things are not miracles, no matter how much the press and families of sick people play it up.
Miracles defy the laws of nature, and as such, do not exist. Without miracles, however, there's little any religion can do to garner new adherents.
