This is a bit of a forum game, but at the same time it has the capacity to result in a bit of poetry, so it goes here. I'm going to supply a line of poetry, and the following poster is to create a poem using the line I gave as their first. Along with their poem, they supply a line for the next person to write poetry on. No restrictions on the type of line or poetry; just keep the line open ended.

Here's the first line:

A mountain pokes out awkward in the mist

Infinite void,
I feel so bad,
Not overjoyed,
Perhaps I'm sad.

An eye for eye makes the whole world blind

An eye for and eye makes the whole world blind,
A tongue for a tongue makes us speechless.
A arm for an arm makes us reach-less,
A Head for a head makes us mindless.

Every part of us creates us,
Every lost one destroys us.
Everything lost is irreplaceable,
Every little part adds up.

Fame is nothing but lies,
Brought up by greed,
The public still denies,
What is caused by their need.

As one gains fame,
They gain lots of pride,
Boasts they can't contain,
Secrets they ought to hide.

Nothing is as obnoxious as other peoples luck

i cant groan
i have no pain
because i have more luck on my own

The wind dies down
I lie in shame
The battle is over
There's no one else to blame

If you can hide the pain
That's crushing your thoughts
If you can close the vein
And start to clot

But it's far to late
You can no longer lie
You must accept your fate
It's time to die

I decided to peel an orange

I decided to peel an orange,
And put it on my head,
But what happened next was so strange,
'Cus the orange wasn't quite dead.

It leaped off my head and onto my knee,
It pulled a knife and yelled,
"I'll get my revenge, you'll see,"
Then out the window it propelled.

And to this day, I still fear,
Every waking hour of the day,
That this orange's threat was sincere,
And he will make me pay.

There once was a little chipmunk,
Who would sip some rye,
He decided to get drunk,
He then thought he could fly.

He jumped out of a tall tree,
And plumeted to the ground,
He fell from such a high point, you see,
That he splattered all around.

I ate a box of Twinkies

I ate a box of Twinkies
And followed it with some pop
Then gulped down sev'ral doughnuts
That I'd stolen from a cop

I snuck into a Wal-Mart
Just so I could eat their cakes
After I ate the frosting
I moved on to gummy snakes

I ate chocolate cookies
And some deep fried ice cream too
Then key lime pie with caramel
And some moose tracks that turned blue

Or I thought I did those things
Asleep there by my cat
But the truth is, I can't do those things
Because I'm just too fat

I stood for a moment, watching them all
marching single file down the corridor;
the death row inmates forced to walk
to death by electric chair.

I stood for a moment watching them all
realizing this same fate awaits myself
from behind these bars I look on, fearing
the day that it would be my turn.

Bars of black and white
On my music page
As I think of morning light
And my daily wage

How will I feed my family?
How will I survive?
As a failure, in the worst sense...
Slave of my own device

I'm an imposter, I think,
One of the only one
I should die, I think, as I hang the rope...
I kick the bucket, finally, the deed is done.

blood is my ambrosia
nay, more than that,
'tis more so an addiction
a crave for killing, never soothed,
as one by one my victims fall.

The streets run red,
my addiction running wild
who's next on my list, who knows?
but all I know, blood is my ambosia.

Forget about your silly whim,
Leave your thoughts behind,
Seek for what I desire,
The wonder's that we'll find.

Sorry I couldn't do anything longer, just thought I'd throw something out there.. might have forced it to rhyme a little as well.
Definitely not the best thing I've ever wrote.

Trapped within your mind
are the thoughts you harbor.
These things they let you bind
as you struggle with your labor.
Let the freedom hold you fast,
may you remember your vows.
When you forget this at last
return with many humble bows.

Therefore, the great wind blows.
Why is that, you wonder?
Let me tell you how my story goes,
And you'll no longer ponder.

I stepped outside, with joy in my heart,
A smile on my face, and on my head a hat,
The day was off to a wonderful start,
And I thought it would be just that.

And then, out of nowhere, came a powerful wind,
And it knocked my hat right off my head,
I tried to chase it but I fell behind,
And it disappeared from my sight instead.

Where my hat went, nobody knows,
And, my friend, therefore the great wind blows.
