The topic says it all.

Why do governments feel the need to make drugs illegal? If anything, it causes a lot more problems than there were before. If they were legalized, there would not be nearly as many violent actions over getting them since the prices would not be nearly as high. There would not been as many people over doing it with drugs, since it would eventually just become a normal thing in day-to-day life.

Drugs need to remain illegal not necessarily because they cause harm to the user, but more importantly because they cause harm to those around the user, mostly innocent people who could be the victim of a psychosis the user is under.

You mean like an anger alcoholic who beats his kids, or second hand smoke. Those are perfectly legal because things were WORSE when alcohol was illegal.
Man, this argument is so much easier then others

they should only be legal for medicinal purposes because they completely turn you into a different person. i haven't seen my dad since i was 7 because he went on drugs. beat that. my cousin ray hasn't seen his mom since he was a baby, because she went on drugs. his mom said that she wants ray to live with her. but he said even if a judge says he has to live with her, he would run away.

I haven't read all about it, but I do know Al Capone built his criminal empire on bootlegging. And while alcohol abuse is very saddening, it is better than having organized crime which - oh shit, still gets alcohol to people who abuse it.

And the pot people are smoking these days is SO much stronger than what people had in the 70's, thanks to selective breeding

Thats good enough proof you don't know what you're talking about. Now, shut up please

Drugs don't make you become schizophrenic, they just bring it into the open more often. Maybe it would be safer for others if we just ship all the schizos to Africa or some shit where we don't have to worry about them.

None of that is because of drugs, its because they were fucking crazy and broke and needed to get away from living like shit. Learn your shit, dipshit. What are you, twelve? You have no right to argue about things you don't understand.
because things were WORSE when alcohol was illegal.

Actually, if you knew anything, violent crimes went up when it was made illegal, more people died from illegally distilled moonshine, and the reason it was made legal once again was because things were better before prohibition.

You'd think that name would be censored or something. That name is lile a tattoo that you got with your girlfriend's name on it,but she broke up with you and now you got a new girlfriend, and she sees it,and asks you who that is,and you try to explain, and you get in an argument, and now you can never have another girlfriend again.

Thats cool. According to your story, I got one more girl than you. Thats pretty bad for you.

Alcohol and tobacco can both kill you, hell so can driving (both accidents and to some extent exhaust) and eating trans fats. Thats all legal

Acohol doesn't kill you in small amounts. Doctors even recommend a small shot glass of wine everyday because it is healthy for your heart. But yes too much can kill. Like when people can drink when their 21 well they enjoy 21 shots and then....

Um, okay... so you're telling me that all the time pot growers spend obsessing over how they raise their product is for some OTHER reason?

Like... what?

And thanks for the condescending tone. I'm that much closer to being enlightened now.

It takes only four times the alcohol to kill you than it takes to get intoxicated. Thats more than any real drug (which doesn't include poison) that I can think of.

Its pretty well known that the whole thing about weed being more powerful today is a myth. I know you don't research this stuff, but that just means you don't get to argue about it. You're wrong. Thats a myth.

Correction: it's a myth that specific scientific data was collected accurately when the sample selection was PROBABLY skewed.

And no, I do not research marijuana. I am not a scientist with a grant and a laboratory. Are you?

Again as I said in my previous post, why are we waiting for science to tell us what solid reasoning can easily indicate?

Many, not all stoners, but MANY, prefer stronger strains. And many growers cater to these needs.

I have spent a lot of time around producers, distributors, and consumers of pot. Almost without exception, their main concern was getting high, and the nature of said high. Health concerns are almost always limited to the "but it's natural and not bad for you" rhetoric that helps people feel justified in their indulgent habits. Whatever. Some people can wreck themselves on any substance. I don't need "research" to explain a friend wasting away in a fashion that just wasn't happening before they started to smoke so much.
