Well, I think of it more as an idealogical stance than a vice, but how do you feel about the objectification of women? As I see it, women are people. And another suprising fact, the Guy in my name truthfully indicates that I am male. I feel, that no matter where they are from, who they are, or what gender they have, people should be treated equally. Of course, that is my opinion, and so I will hope that people can share their views, even if they do believe in the objectification of women. So, please, no making insults on other people's comments. As the rules say, keep the debate friendly and clean. If possible, you can point out flaws, but, it is opinion. So remember, those are the rules, people!

I remember reading about it somewhere, possibly the Bible. Supposedly God created Adam from clay, making him in his own self-image, and then took one of his ribs, and created Eve from it. Excuse me not being able to find something to back this up, I shall search.

There are two different stories of Genesis within the Bible. One implies that man and woman were created simultaneously and the other suggests that God created Eve from Adam's rib.

Here, let me help you with that.
I believe the verse you are looking for is Genesis 2:21-22

I was not aware of that. Thank you for elucidating on that.

You're welcome - I got it from here:

When was Eve created?

I think it was nice of the Atheists on that site to offer a nice little link.

And thus we have a contradiction in the Bible. Not exactly rare but difficult in debates such as this.

Did you look at the link? That wasn't a contradiction.

Well - if you want some flaws and/or contradictions in the Bible then look no further than HERE!

My point was that certain passage was not a concradiction. If you want to debate the entire Bible having contradictions then you have found me beat.

Yes, I looked. It would appear there is a contradiction. Gen 1:27 implies he created them simultaneously, whereas 2:221-22 says he created man first.

It implies no such thing.

It implies no such thing.

So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

It simply states that God created man in his own image, then goes on to say that he created both man and woman. It's ambiguous.
