Senate Republicans on Tuesday blocked an effort by Democrats and the White House to lift the ban on gays serving openly in the military, voting unanimously against advancing a major defense policy bill that included the provision.
Do you feel that the military should keep the DADT policy, or do away with it and why?
I'd say those things are in motion already. Homosexuality is a lot more accepted and popular than it was 15 years ago. I'm talking BIG changes since then.
What about starting with real coverage of a gay rights parade - an hour long live broadcast or something - instead of having a few snapshots of some crazies with inflammatory or derogatory signs protesting the parade?

Who the heck would want to watch a parade for a whole hour?
Holt, wolf is saying that your arguments are not valid, or sound for that matter. You really haven't even made a conclusion, except that you feel it will affect soldiers in the military.
So, why don't you make a valid argument and present it.

I have if you would mind reading my posts. But since you won't I will say again....My stand on the issue is it will effect soldiers and their moral and as to repealing it other then that point I just stated I have no stand on it.
Yeah, not really; you pretty much didn't change what you posted earlier, just played the "Palin Rewind and Play Technique." I also notice that you are just arguing against Avorne's posts, not the rest of the discussants. Their arguments shouldn't fall on deaf ears, you know!
The only thing I could suggest is increased awareness for homosexuals and the many spectra of their lives. Little by little, they are getting the recognition they deserve, and it is just a matter of time before those with a blatant disregard for every part of homosexuals' existences treat them like a citizen.

I watch the entire Autumn and Winter parades standing up in the cold. I think I can watch a homosexual parade sitting on the couch and drinking a beer.

What else did I need to say? I explained how it would effecct American soldiers and that I had no opinion other than that.
its not about whether its right or not anymore, there are too many people who would hurt them if they were openly gay. this is america, full of racist bigotry, and the army is no exception. this is for the protection of the gays in the armed forces.
And the answer to the problem is to punish the gay person from letting it slip and getting beat up, by kicking them out of the service rather then punishing their attackers?
How about this: Take one division. JUST one division of our military, repeal it for that one division for 18 months. Carefully observe the reactions of every single person in the division, gay or straight, and observe if anything changes.

While our troops are out there fighting to defend our freedom they are running under rules used mostly by countries often viewed as being against freedom... interesting isn't it?
What we can do to handle this is to have each troop gather together completely nude and dick harmonize before and after combat. Because when every ones unit works as one then the unit can work as one.

I think that would make all the terrorists commit suicide if they saw that.
Holt your opinion doesn't count for evidence. You need something to back up your opinion. All you seem to be saying is "This is my opinion! I know all!". PROVE IT TO ME!

You mean that terrorists will commit suicide if we go with mages suggestion?
