Now I want to explain something first of all; I love this website. I love the variety of games, I love the developers and their blogs and I 'used' to love the forums and game comments, but recently that's been changing.
Now I've been a regular here for around two years. At first I just played the odd game here and there and lurked on the forums now and then but eventually I got round to making an account. I started commenting on the games I liked, making some forum posts almost exclusively in the flash games section and generally getting more involved. However it seems to me that the game comments are becoming more and more just youtube comments version 2. And the forums aren't a whole lot better.
So my question is; do you agree? Is the community here dumbing down, possibly even ruining the fun for you or do you think I'm just talking out of my rear end? Discuss!

That is very judgmental. Do you have proof? Guess who falls under that category? Yours truly. I'm not a spammer, I'm completely against spamming. It's kinda like a broken pencil, pointless.
I just realized that most of AG is 11-16 so that statement is semi-agreeable with. Although, I don't think you should call most 11-16 year old males spammers.
I think it is dumbing down, this whole site has way too old style, it don't has regular things that even cheapest forum has this days, I think you'll know what I mean. I don't want to advertise but just look at this site, and than compare it to Armor Games

Cormyn and the other mods (notice how I excluded myself here, I was travelling and can't take credit for it) actually just "despammed" several game comment threads. And I happen to disagree, most youtube comment threads end in flamewars. Our problem was mainly excessively short and useless comments.
As for forums, interesting threads are being created at the same pace as they used to 2 years ago, only they've been diluted by the sheer number of repeats. The style of argumentation that goes on in there hasn't changed much either.
I like how users from 2 years ago complain about the now. I think this user is #4 on that list.
Much bigger number if you don't just count the people who start a thread specifically for the purpose lol.

Somebody seems to not have noticed the new entire section of the forum dedicated to explaining future releases that rectify the issue highlighted in this post.

Yea...i saw it, but It took you 2 years to start it and I still don't see any changes execept the less than 5 words spam warning above comments in games, but I think that got missing too

There is an entire forum section dedicated to all the changes that are going into the new site. This is not a small series of upgrades, or a redesign of the current website, but an entirely new look and feel. Why put a turbocharger on your Honda when you are getting a Porsche in a few months?

Our administration and developers are working very hard to make a completely new site, with a new design, new features, plus more. Don't complain...

Because you can buy at least 3 Hondas, and turbochargers on all of them for the price of a 911 Carrera.
I've never been called names. Except the occasional people leaving nasty comments on my profile. The only people that have done that though are people from Exit Path. They take there rage out on me because I wouldn't let them win. But all I do is ignore it.
