Now I want to explain something first of all; I love this website. I love the variety of games, I love the developers and their blogs and I 'used' to love the forums and game comments, but recently that's been changing.
Now I've been a regular here for around two years. At first I just played the odd game here and there and lurked on the forums now and then but eventually I got round to making an account. I started commenting on the games I liked, making some forum posts almost exclusively in the flash games section and generally getting more involved. However it seems to me that the game comments are becoming more and more just youtube comments version 2. And the forums aren't a whole lot better.
So my question is; do you agree? Is the community here dumbing down, possibly even ruining the fun for you or do you think I'm just talking out of my rear end? Discuss!
I never understood either, but I lost interest in understanding. I left it at assuming that some people never learn. The admins are good at wiping it out.
I agree with the game comments. The only time I ever really comment now are on game comments now. And I leave a nice review that's about 1 or two paragraphs. Sometimes I will report certain things to the mods.
I don't think we are dumbing down. Moderators and administrators are working harder than ever trying to make this site and AG3 better for us all. When I was here (over 2 years ago) AG had under 200,000 users. Now that the site is growing, things are starting to get better for all of us.
Some users just don't want to learn the rules and then they get hit with the ban hammer sooner or later.
Skater sort of means that the forums will get more active and less active depending on who's there and if there's anything going on. Or not. If you want an example, Alexa shows the 7th and 8th of November as a sharp spike in forum activity, in part because of Beta.
I don't think AG is "dumbing down" I actually think it's getting smarter. Making a new revamped site. The moderators here are very active too. I'm glad they delete all the spam on here and useless post.
I agree too, but why does everyone get mad at the Forum Games having spam. I mean seriously, you don't get any AP for it, and it doesn't count towards your total Forum Post count.
The forumgames is there to take spam away form the people i nthe tavern and else where trying to actually tlak to people. It is encouraged that spam and stupid things happen there rather then everywhere.
I think that the demographic that spams the most is 11-16 year old males. Most forums I've been to haven't had spam, but then they've been specifically geared to one subject etc
Samdawg, if a place is over-saturated it becomes difficult to navigate properly. Threads are ruined by imbeciles who can't play correctly and the place is crowded with junk.
