Now I want to explain something first of all; I love this website. I love the variety of games, I love the developers and their blogs and I 'used' to love the forums and game comments, but recently that's been changing.
Now I've been a regular here for around two years. At first I just played the odd game here and there and lurked on the forums now and then but eventually I got round to making an account. I started commenting on the games I liked, making some forum posts almost exclusively in the flash games section and generally getting more involved. However it seems to me that the game comments are becoming more and more just youtube comments version 2. And the forums aren't a whole lot better.
So my question is; do you agree? Is the community here dumbing down, possibly even ruining the fun for you or do you think I'm just talking out of my rear end? Discuss!
I love being insulted by idiots on my profile. Because I think: "wow! these morons take time out of their day to use all their brain-power to prove their stupidity!" It's fun making them look stupid on a public site.
There are dumb people who just spam and insult other members. Which is really stupid to do. If you insult someone you know your going to probably get banned for it. And if you spam there's no point. You'll just lose that AP you earned from spamming.
Every website has idiots on it. And some smart people. Once I was in an online game, and some person called me a five year old, and they were typing like: "omg u noob", and I was typing like I am now.
eh, it's the users who run around spamming and complaining and getting mad at mods for locking threads and deleting posts, then they go rageguy and leave. Also it's the ones who can't be bothered by reading the rules and asking questions. Other than that most of AG community is alright
Mods don't really have the ability to know about comment spam unless people flag it, as far as I know that is. The only reason they remove forum spam is because it's reported or they see it. They can't really do the same with comments, unless they happen to catch sight of it while playing a game.
Mind you these are all assumptions, you have to ask a moderator or administrator to be sure.

Actually flagging sends it to the admins, not the mods. We only see what is pointed out to us or we notice in our travels around the site. If you DO notice comment spam, either on profiles or games, let one of us know and we can take care of it.
I'm not entirely sure. I believe that's just how the system was originally coded, and no point spending time altering the code while the admins are busy with v3. I could be mistaken though, so if you want a concrete answer I'd drop by Cormyn's profile and get it straight from the horses mouth.
I agree it is getting worse with more users. I have been on armorgames since near its development and although i have just recently made an account, i have read forums and comments, and the more people that come to armorgames the more mindless spammers their seems to be. on top of that you have people who seem to want to make wars over who is right or wrong on the forums you used to enjoy and it becomes annoying
I just dislike how people make an account and don't read the rules. Or the TaC. If you read those then you won't have any problems on this site. And just leave nice constructive comments and post. Very easy to do. I'm sure the moderators do get annoyed though with excessive spamming like most people do. Spamming everywhere just makes there work harder and you'll just get on there bad side when you do that.
