If you had a button that gave you One Million Dollars at the expense of one random human life every time you pressed it, how many times would you press it?
I figure this will show human greed. You become richer by the press, but also destroy someone elses life. Not to mention there family and loved ones.
How many times would i press it? hehehehe...
All of this is hypothetical so no ones going ask you how you got rich.
Do you know how tight Casino security is? You would most likely be shot when seen trying to steal the money and die yourself. But I do understand trying to steal the money instead of killing someone for it. I would just try to work for the money.
you stole this from a movie.
What movie did she steal it from?
i'd keep pressing it until someone i know dies
You can live with yourself knowing that you've killed so many people and ruined so many lives?
The local casino was robbed here awhile ago. It was pretty cool
/random
I'm actually surprised you can all think that way. If there was an outbreak of war and your country was recruiting and later conscripting, at what point if any would you take a life?
My main reason for not pressing the button would be based in logistics, not ethics. I mean, I'm a pacifist, so I there is no way I would press the button, even if it killed a death row inmate. I don't hold many beliefs, but I will never compromise on the issue of violence.
But that's not even the biggest problem. Because after pressing the button, how do I explain where I got the money from? How, exactly, does one explain 1,000,000 "button of death" dollars on their tax forms? I'll take the button's ability to produce the million dollars on faith, but I can't believe that society will let me spend any of it.
I suppose I would have to launder the money somehow, which would cut into my profits and just make things so much more complicated.
i wouldnt press it. even if i really need the money for something. i mean even if someone i know needed it for living. i think its just wrong to take someones life to save anothers. its not fair.
@OP you stole this from a movie. I would rather steal the money from a casino with eleven other guys.
And I would rather wear a trench coat, fly around on a zipline, and shoot the bandits with sleeping darts. All while holding a flaming cocktail and remaining completely inconspicuous.
And what would happen if the one person who dies is piloting a 747? I couldn't be responsible for the many other deaths that would result indirectly from me pressing the button, no matter what the reward is.
I wouldn't hit the button, unless the other option is living on the street.
I don't think I would press it. Unless one of my family members would need a major surgery or were really sick and we couldn't afford to pay for the hospital bills.
Really agree with this!
Also, the human life is random, so there's still a chance someone is killed you know of a good friend of yours know.
