Is it possible to have an omnipotent being? I want to see if anybody can bring up the paradox it forms.

Obviously, you're going to say something like, "Can an omnipotent being create a box that He cannot lift," or something like that.

A better argument is the argument about omniscience - that an omniscient being would see His own future, and therefore not be able to have free will.

obviously he'd create one and then lift it... but he wouldn't have lifted it b/c he couldn't but he would b/c he could... its simple... if he's omnipotent then that falls under the category of doing everything... "you can only do one"... omnipotent means doing both (O_______o)

had this thread... got locked... where's Asherlee?

Hey - what about my argument about omniscience / free will? Hmm?

do huh?

omnipotence means the ability to override that and give free will... based off of what "omnipotence" entails... its possible if it exists.

i guess walker, cenere, the zoph, asherlee, and other friends are busy irl nao...

and if the "infinite universes" concept is true then such a being can do all things and yet do nothing... at the same time O___o... b/c w/ omnipotence he can manifest in all of them...or he is all of them

does god has a futures? or is god his own futures?

You got the defense - did you come up with that yourself? Because if you did, that's pretty good.

If any being is omnipotent, then he can create stone so heavy he cannot lift. If he cannot create a stone so heavy he cannot lift, then it is not omnipotent to begin with. If it can create it, then he cannot lift it, therefore, he is not omnipotent.

So, what I want to know is if anyone can prove that it is possible to have an omnipotent being.

if there is an "omnipotent" being then when why is it so hard to believe that if posed w/ a supposed paradox that he wouldn't be fully capable of answering it with another paradox?.....and therefore completing paradox

He'd create a stone that noone else could lift.

He can create a stone that he cannot lift and yet lift it. This is no paradox, this is the definition of being omnipotent.
