ok call of duty was nice, still is nice kinda. but its getting to be a bit much. they come out with a new game EVERY year it seems, and its getting kind of old. the whole FPS fad thats been happening lateley is getting out of control. i say we boycot call of duty so they can actually take time to make a good game and not just fire them out of there ***** every 6 months. cause honestly they are making way to much money for what they are producing

wether there in the same catagorie or not is irrelivent, people who play cod are most of the time SOOO close minded, theyve never played a game and theyll be like, oh black ops is better, and im like, ummmm.... have you played killzone 2? and those are the kind of people that have bought every cod since 4. so they essentially have wasted 180 dollers potentially more on the same freaking game.
wether ther in the same genre or not doesnt matter cause they game it self over shadows EVERYTHING then it doesnt even match up to some games in the awards so its just a fail

Umm no, how can I be biased? I've played 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... Battlefield games and I've played 1... 2.. 3.. 4.. CoD games. In the amount of time I've played my BF games I've only witnessed less than 1/100 of the consistant moaning people make on CoD. And the actually sad thing about that is that it's true and accurate. Okay? Very, very bad.
Battlefield 3 > MW2 MW3 Black Ops ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Truth COD just stopped being good after WAW, and even then it was a stretch. COD 4 was great, but after that it just....went down.....and down....and down

Don't wanna get hated on here... But I gotta say: 1) Harcore franchise lovers are too irrational to be swayed 2) All the latest FPSs seem to be pretty much copies of each other. 3) Let the hating on me begin.
I could never boycott COD!! Yes they could take more time in making their games, but it's a great franchise! Am I wrong? I too am constantly annoyed with all the nonstop talk about Black Ops and "Oh i just got ______ achievement This morning!" Come on people Call of Duties are decent games (In general) but do we really have to wake up in the morning and go bonkers cause we killed a whole team without dieing? With MW2, Infinityward could have really put more effort into balancing, and patching. I agree with that and that Treyarch is picking it back up. But i could never boycott COD.

Why? I believe the reason they look so much the same is just that they are quite flat and basic. Compared to an RTS there are many, MANY ways to show it, like Mediaval games (the entire Age franchise), Modern Games (Company of Heroes, Command and Conquer - both very different), Futuristic Games (StarCraft II, and I'm sure there's another one ), with further splits. Company of Heroes gets resources from Territory and it's layout is very different. StarCraft II is purely, purely focused on gameplay and graphics, which is great, because now there are optimized builds etc and no balance issues I currently know. Mediaval ones like Age are more free-style but also good for educational purposes, they're awesome, but lack the competitive style. It should be noted that it has great vanity which StarCraft II lacks.

Given your prebious expressed opinions I'm not sure why It could just be that you don't want to abandon it whilst not with another game But yeah your statements about people raging over having such "great" achievements in the game is exceptionally sad, and the problem with the game isn't always itself, it's the community and playerbase. The community rages at any, either good or "nooby" tactic used by someone else, they often accuse of hacking to save their own worthless hides and they often do them in HUGE quantities.
The playerbase has vastly effected the makers of CoD, and it has quickly made it worse. But yeah - quarantine them with their own game, they made it, they keep it :>

that doesnt mean they arent good, but if youve played a sequel befre you know there has to be significant change for benefit if its any good of a sequal. and honestly none of the cod games since cod4 have done that.
OK guys... CoD is great. Battlefield too, as well as Crysis and Bioshock, and all the rest. However... think about this: Why is Counter-Strike still so popular? It's got none of the graphics which the latest FPSs are quite literally dying for... So. My main grievances against all the latest games is their un-originality. I'm not just seeking for better graphics.
Oh and also... I'm not exactly going to be all too hyped to run to any store for a game which has a bunch of improvements on faults which only first appeared in the last of the series... Seriously, how can you be impressed by 'improvements' if they were never an issue before? Now, forgiving say Ubisoft for it's insistence on it's 3-month-long DRM and delaying PC game releases so as not to affect console version sales what with all the 3-day-long cracks... Assassin's Creed. They're not quite FPS, but I hope you get my point: they've introduced something genuinely new to gaming, almost a different genre/a unique combination of genres.
My point is, can we have a little originality? I mean, how are you going to stop people downloading cracks if the next release isn't even worth the gas bill to drive to the store, forget about the MRP?

It just annoys me when these "COD nerds" talk to much about it, get so irrational, etc. But, every once in a while for me its fun to play (split screen) with friends that come over since live is nuts. That's why i can't boycott it, sometimes it is alright.
